For those of you old enough to remember, Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick formed one of the most volatile and entertaining duos in Sportcenter history. These were not only sports reporters but literary snipers that enjoyed their job....at least on the surface. Eight years ago, there was a split with Olbermann and most of the ESPN people, as he left under bad circumstances. It wasn't really clear until a couple years ago what really happened. For a good read, Keith himself writes a story to heal some wounds. I found it at this link if you are interested in the story: http://www.salon.com/news/sports/col/olber...ulpa/index.html For new news, it appears that there is finally closure to the situation, as it is reported that Olbermann will be joining his old SportsCenter tag-team partner Dan Patrick one hour a week on his ESPN Radio Show. He will still continue to live in New York and continue his current job. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6210240/ I enjoyed these two go at it in the old days, and my only regret is that it is on radio, not on television. The visual memories of their facial expressions are classic. I found it to be a good lesson in humility and forgiveness. If you keep a fair head about you, it will benefit you in the long run.
KO & DP are the reigning tag champs of Sports News & Highlights. There was & will probably be no one better ever. IMO DP & Kenny Mayne came close, but.... Why don't they have Mayne doing sports center anymore? He is far better than that goof Stuart Scott. I love to watch KO on MSNBC. Hint, he is on @ the same time that pompous populist blowhard O'reilly is.
i love Kenny Mayne hes a funny guy and hes not doing enough there as i can see. I always see him doing like funny stuff with different sports, also usually they have him going to 3 sports game in one day or something liike that. He should be back behind the desk
What the hell happened to Kenny Mayne? The last time I saw him on ESPN was when he anchored the Speedweeks at Daytona in mid-February.
Any catch the footbal "story" he did on that chinese dude joining the Seahawks...I was pissing myself ( okay not literaly)
that was funny. i liked what he did to bobble heads one time after the all star game for baseball( when i was a baseball fan) i also remember him doing some kind of game show or something(trivia!?)
