What video games are you guys into? Action, First Person Shooters, Fighting, Racing, RPG, Sport etc etc... Personally I love almost all of them! For the majority of the time I play sport games but lately i've been playing alot of racing games too, a few years back I was all Final Fantasy, but now i've kind of let that go. I can't really play it anymore anyway because I've had 2 PS2 Consoles broken over the past 5 years so I decided to give the Xbox a try, and I love it! I bought one of those modified ones with all the different applications and 120gb harddrive (Shhhhhhhh!). So now you guys... Game Console: Xbox Favourite Game of all time: I can't say, few years ago I would of definitley said Final Fantasy 10 or 8 Never liked number 7 for some reason... Games currently playing: ESPN NBA 2K5, Need for Speed Underground 2 and the unreleased (in Australia) game Juiced which I got from the place where I bought the Xbox... Favourite Type of Game: Sports Games Least Favourite Type of Game: Umm Probably those puzzle ones, or those ones where you see the top of a helicopter or plane and you just dodge bullets and fire (Anyone know what they're called?) First Game Console: Sega Mega Drive (Master System in US?)
Cool I personally haven't played that game, golfing games never looked too appealing to me, but i'll give it a try one of these days.. BTW you're in Adelaide too? thats awesome whereabouts?
Oh no! Adelaidians. Hehe, I'm just kidding guys. Since I'm from Sydney you'd probably all hate me. Dan Le, I like your style. I'm a die hard Xbox supporter. PS2 (as popular as it may be) is just trash. Its capabilities don't live upto the Xbox. My exbox is also modded but I'm having problems with playing mp3's on it. It keeps freezing on me. I just stick to backed up games and old emulator games from snes and mega drive. I like most genres. Used to be very into RPG's but don't have the time for them anymore. Nowadays I prefer games that you don't get consumed in and ones that you could stop playing at any time such as sports, fighting, and racing games. Fav game of all time is Chrono Cross altohugh FF7 comes very close. After Star Wars: KOTOR I have not ben into RPG's. My fav game right now is NBA Live 2005. Fight Night is pretty hot too. I want to get round2. And also NFSU2 kicks butt.
Naa man your cool with me, I lived in Sydney for a while when I was a little toddler before school started for me lol... With your Xbox can it load CD-R's? Mine can't and can only load up CD-RW's, I can't burn any xbox games because you need a cable and some network card or something right? I just load the games on my harddrive. I only played about 10 seconds of Chrono Cross and it looked pretty good, I've played alot of the game Chrono Cross on the SNES Emulator, haven't ever played fight night thats another one i'll try and pick up sooner or later, also NBA Live 2005 but i'm really digging the realisticness (is that a word?) of NBA 2K5.. oh and i'm also playing NBA Street 3 which is pretty awesome too (I just contradicted myself since this game is fake beyond fake lol).
Ahh!!! Australians! Game Console: PS2 Favourite Game of all time: Street Fighter Alpha 3, Final Fantasy 8 Games currently playing: ESPN NBA 2K4 (don't have enough money to buy new games), Halo 2 (friends house) Favourite Type of Game: Fighting, Sports, Shooting Least Favourite Type of Game: Puzzle First Game Console: NES

Believe it.
Wow, what's up with Final Fantasy VIII and us Rockets fans? It's definitely up there as one of my all-time favorites. The storyline was just...epic. The musical score...perfect. The characters...so deep. Ahhhh, the memories...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Pwn3d!:</div><div class="quote_post">Championship Manager is the shiznizzle. Believe it.</div> Definitely. CM was good back then, but now I believe FM 2005 is the best managing game around. It's the most addictive stuff around, and yes, I've tried some "addictive" stuff. Nothing hooks me like this game though, I constantly stay up till 2am playing it. I have a PS2, but I don't play too much on it. Not modded, and I can never afford the games. I play more on PC, since I got a very good one recently. Half-Life 2, NBA Live 2005, NFSU2, FM 2005 and MVP Baseball 2005 are the shizzle right now.
BTW- Nba Live 2005 or NBA 2k5? I've been wanting to get it for some time (I guess its too late now but I'm still wondering) which is better?

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AznxBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">BTW- Nba Live 2005 or NBA 2k5? I've been wanting to get it for some time (I guess its too late now but I'm still wondering) which is better?</div> Yeah thats an often asked question, i'll try and help but the best thing would be to rent them first... NBA Live 2005 is more of an arcade type basketball game, I mean its not like the old NBA Jam where you can do 17 flips in the air then dunk it, it's just less complicated, like you can still do a 360 dunk in traffic and most of the time if you have something working like a post up fadeaway it'll score every time, not to mention I average I get like 7 blocks a game with Yao in 5 minute quarters, which still isn't alot but don't get me wrong this is a VERY fun game to play, to me the dunk competition gets boring, I only play a bit of it to be honest i'm not bery good but I play on the PC and have to use the keyboard, so it's really hard for me but maybe thats why i'm not enjoying it as much as others, the three point shootout is pretty easy as well, just get a player over 80, it might take 1 or 2 shots to find your release time then after that it's pretty easy to get 30 each time, but the harder the difficulty the harder it is to shoot. NBA 2K5 is a very realistic basketball game, it's extremely hard to do anything tricky or flashy, but when you do get it, it just feels awesome like in NBA Live if you do a few moves with the trick stick, eventually they'll have their ankle broken, not in NBA 2k5 i've never broken someones ankles in that, just drove past them for a dunk, I also managed to pull a between the legs dunk on a fast break with T-Mac, but if you have 1 player that's lighting it up, say T-Mac scores 4 in a row, they will double team you so you have to try to pass it to the open man which sometimes you will just throw out of bounds if you're a bad passer and you have a limited time as if you take too long you'll get the ball stripped or have a jump ball. Street with 2K5 in my opinion is better then in NBA Live, i'm sure you've played some of the older NBA Live games, basically in them you can choose, Gym or Urban, or Night or Day and only a halfcourt 1 on 1 in 2K5 you can choose different places including Rucker park, Venice Beach and even Egypt (lol) you can choose half court or full court you can select how many players you want in from 1 on 1 to 5 on 5. Then there's 24/7 which is a mode where you create a player and go street with him, you play people build up your stats and try and go national, problem is it's 24/7 so you have to play everyday or your stats go down which is a real hassle... I hope I helped you a little bit, but really i can't choose between the two, NBA Live is much better for playing with friends as it has more features, but if you like to concentrate on plays and just like realistic games, then NBA 2K5 is the most realistic that you can currently get, I also believe it's cheaper, but don't hold me to that... Bottom Line Try and rent them to see for yourself.
Always been an NBA Live fan but thats more because I've never played the 2K series. I can never find a burnt version of the game. BTW, Dan Le, my xbox doesn't play CD-R either. I have no idea whats going on. The guy who modded my xbox gave me 1 year warranty so I could go back and ask him i guess.

I changed my HDD to a 160gb. So are u telling me that if I change the XBOX's DVD drive, then I should be able to read CD-R?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dakeem1:</div><div class="quote_post">I changed my HDD to a 160gb. So are u telling me that if I change the XBOX's DVD drive, then I should be able to read CD-R?</div> Yeah there are 3 types of DVD drives that are used by the Microsoft corporation the Samsung one, the Phillips One and then theres the Thompson one sad to say we both bought the common Thompson one..The rankings of DVD drives go like this... Samsung- Best Phillips- 2nd Thomson- 3rd The Thompson is the only DVD Drive that won't allow you to read CD-R I haven't done it but i've seen ads in the trading post of people who can switch your DVD drive to another one, just make sure to ask that it's a Samsung one that they replace it with... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Samsung Rom[/b] will play all types of media including cdr. Shown here in this picture. Note the holes in the CD tray. Philips and Thompson Roms don't have the extra 2 holes. Click on the picture for an enlarged view. BE AWARE If your console is dated after about April 2004 and the CD tray looks like the above picture, it's most likely you have a Samsung - Toshiba Rom drive that has the characteristics of the Phillips drive mentioned below. Phillips Rom will usually play cdrw media and has been known to read cdr on occasion. Take note of the " key hole" appearance. NOTE: We have noticed some machines dated 2003 + with Phillips Rom drives have been able to read CDR media and have some have not been able to read some DVDR media. Thompson Rom It's a good drive but it won't read cdr, has been known to read cdrw but rarely and is probably the best drive for reading DVD media. Take note of the arch like cut-out in the CD tray. </div> That there was taken from xroad.com.au
