Nocioni Has a KG night! Chi wins 94-103, 1-0 Some call him dirty, some call him a great defender but 25 points and 18 rebounds is unheard of from a 6-7 guy. That sounds like tim duncan or Kevin garnett. But this is the most minutes hes played all year (48). I think he may have had a few espresso shot before tipoff. BUt a key factor in the game and a guy who will not get the credit he deserves Tyson Chandler. when he came in the second half he totally changed the dynamics of thr game. the key line up for chicago was, Duhon, Hinrich, Gordan, Noc, Chandler. Nocioni played a great game pulling a Shawn Marion (playing Power Forward). Chandler stopped Brown who was having his was with nochioni. Chandler even blocked a drive by brown then followed with the Mobo finger wag. Where before the wiz would get it to Brown down low and the bulls had to double. Thats how they began to get the open shots from the perimiter. Chandler who has 2 inches on brown and a great leaper contained Brown well so we did away with the double team. And began to contest shots more consistantly. But the duel between Hughes and Gordan was entertaining in the first half. I think Hughes dropped 23 or 24 in the first1/2, and Ben droped 18. HUghes carried the load for was too long and i think jamison and gilbert were suprisingly very nervous. The highlight of the night for me was this dunk by Duhon (first dunk of his NBA career). He gets alot of points on breakaways and I'd always yell "Dunk IT!" cause im under six feet and I like to see the little guys get up. I think Gilbert will keep his mouth shut thruout the series. His comments were ceraitnly a part of the pregame speech. You never say things to fire up a player that may be part of the reason why Noc Had such a great game. But Bulls win 103-94 I cant wait till game 2. Hell Yeah Go Bulls!
Good to see the Bulls get this win and Gordon playing like this is extremely important. Need to get another win here before they head to Washington.
