I heard on espn today that Ricky davis was talking about a sweep during the game 1 against Indiana. They say that it was in the 2nd qtr when the celts began to pull away bigtime. Now he said this while sitting on his own bench. Is It fair for the media to even talk about what he said to a teammate during a blowout game. Im sure he was just basking in the moment and wouldnt have mentioned a broom in public discussion. I dont know if that was right for them to go back through the game to read the lips of a player and then make that public. It kind of shows you how low the media can go. Now more than likely the Pacers will come back Feirce in game 2. Big Brother is watching!
It was a dumb thing to say in the first place, but the media totally blew it out of proportion. I'd like to personally thank them for searching for ammo and using it to fire the Pacers up. They sought this out and exposed it. I guess Reggie's last run at a ring will sell more papers and get more ratings.
Nice Job Ricky, you make a guaranty n u mess it up. Ricky Davis shouldn't even e talking. He had like 6 turnover n I like his choking on the lay-up to brin them within one. Thats why bench player shouldn't say anything.
Is it me or can anyone understand anything QbanBalla says...no offence of course, I'm just saying you could express your ideas more clearly.... I don't see the big deal, but he was wrong in saying it. You always have to have respect for your opponents.
^ <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">ye bench players shouldnt say nothing unless they 6th man quality like ben gordon</div> Huh? It happens I guess, what can you do now, I have Indiana winning the series though...
I have Indy winning the series as well, and the comment was immature and childish...Ricky should be veteran enough to know that one game does not decide a series...All it did was inspire Indiana to play well and win game 2...Ricky needs to just keep his mouth shut and play...I cant remember the last smart thing he said...

Let me make this very clear: <font size="5">RICKY DID NOT MAKE A "GUARANTEE"!!! HE SAID IT ON HIS OWN BENCH TO HIS TEAMMATES!! </font> Now that that's out of the way, Ricky has denied saying anything of the sort and the media hasn't provided any sort of proof. Believe what you want, but it's a little suspicious to me. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Shooter:</div><div class="quote_post">I cant remember the last smart thing he said...</div> ...and that means so much. I'm sure you go around looking for things he's said, too. Call me crazy, but isn't it obvious at this point that unless you seek out everything he says (or SUPPOSEDLY SAYS), all you are going to hear from the national media regarding him is NEGATIVITY!?
Ricky Davis will not win 6th man of year, but if Indy wins the next three games and the series, Ricky gets bone head of the year award
Even though Ricky said that he never said anything of the sort, I'm more likely to think that he did because he was on the team last year that got swept by Indiana and I'm sure they would have liked to return the favor. But, I see nothing wrong with it. Honestly, where is the harm in having the mindset "You know what, we're better than you. Much better and this series is already over." Should he have said it out loud? Probably not, but I'm sure that every player thinks it after they win game 1. Maybe Ricky doesn't have an inner monologue, who knows? The problem is that there are microphones all over the place now and since game 1 was so one-sided they didn't want to bother analysing the actual game and this was the easy story, made even easier by the fact that people still think of Ricky as the guy who shot as his own net (even though Bob Sura did the same thing last year and now he's the greatest thing that ever happened to the Rockets.) The bigger issue I don't get is why people are here all in an uproar. Who wouldn't want a player to go out on the court already assuming that they won? Would you rather ricky go on the floor "gee, I don't know how we could possibly win, I hope Reggie doesn't hurt me.." I want a player that thinks they are going to win every game on the way to the championship. Curt Schilling says he takes the mound every game expecting to throw a perfect game. That's what makes him a champion. You don't think your precious Ben Gordon expects to win every game and make every last second shot? So when Ricky says it out loud it its the worst thing ever, but if a guy like Ben Gordon said it then he's just got that confidence that separates him from the rest. Yeah, that makes a ton of sense...
Every good player in the legue says their gonna win everygame, its just the smart ones that dont blabber their mouth(TD), and then their stupid one that do open their mouth(chad johnson and now ricky davis), its not about being a good player or not, its between being a smart player or a retard
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umer remU:</div><div class="quote_post">ye bench players shouldnt say nothing unless they 6th man quality like ben gordon</div> Ricky WAS brought up as a possible 6th man award winner. I find it amusing that some people act as though the buzzer sounded and Ricky snatched the microphone from a reporter and guaranteed a sweep to the nation. Grabbed the P.A. and screamed to the fans in the arena that the Celtics were going to sweep their candy-a$$es and slap their wives. Ricky is feeling good, looks at a teammate while he's sitting, gives him a five and says he doesn't know what the hell the Pacers doing over there, but if that's all they got it's gonna be 4-0 in no time. Can the haters compute the difference in the two scenarios?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Can the haters compute the difference in the two scenarios?</div> Well, While I'm not a fan of the term "hater", your comment is pretty much on point. However, consider the following: 1. The 2 posters making the biggest arguements against RD are both posters who are vehemently jocking Ben Gordon in the 6th Man thread. In that same aspect, interestingly enough, they dragged Gordon into this thread as well. Go figure.... 2. One is also a suspended member at the moment, due to his stellar posting habits. The other can't be understood on most occasions he posts. In other words, let's consider the sources and thier motives and move past their comments. This is obviously something that's been overblown and made public for no other reason than to try to generate undue controversy.
