<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- After spending seven seasons with the Knicks and hearing his name mentioned in countless trade rumors, forward Kurt Thomas yesterday said he's not sure he wants to come back.

Asked if he and agent Jerry Hicks might request a trade, Thomas said: "We'll see. We'll probably discuss that at some time throughout the summer."

At the end of January, Thomas had a well-publicized locker-room blowup with point guard Stephon Marbury. Then team president Isiah Thomas tried to trade him to Cleveland at the Feb. 24 trade deadline, but the deal fell apart.

After four straight losing seasons, Kurt Thomas is tired of rebuilding. "I'm going into my 11th [NBA] year," he said. "I'm pretty much through the rebuilding."

    Newsday
Let me just say I am a big Kurt Thomas fan and his name has been thrown up in multiple scenarios over the course of his Knick career. This year he had an excellent season as he averaged a double double. If Kurt Thomas leaves, he will be the only Knick left since the Knick glory days and the only Knick left since Isiah Thomas took over on the 21st of December (I think). Hopefully we can get something good from Kurt Thomas like some young talent. His contract will give a team a hard time, but the Knicks almost got Drew Gooden for him! Hopefully the Knicks get a big man in the draft (a center) and clean up that glut and get Sweetney some time.

Houston was here 2 or 3 years before Kurt Thomas. And Sweetney is the other Knick besides those the two I just mentioned to survive Isiah's purge. I hope we do trade him. He doesnt deserve to be in this mess of a team. He deserves to be in a place where he has a chance to get a ring. With that said I would like a draft pick for him. I say we trade him to the Suns for Chicago's first round pick. The Suns could use more depth, more defense, and more rebounding and we can hope that Johan Petro is still around for that pick. It's a win-win situation for everybody.

Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.
