Yao was actually perfect from the floor (13 for 13), but for some reason they said he got a shot blocked instead of the ball being stripped from him as he was going to the basket. That kind of sucks, because I think that would have been some sort of playoff record.

YES!!!! WE WON. WHAT A GAME! Can't believe we won 2 straight games on their homecourt. This is phenomenal. Yao and TMac are an awesome combo and everyone contributed to the win. We're in control of the series but we shouldnt be complacent or else it would be our on doing. But a great way to start the series with wins on their own homecourt. Dirk got his scoring but is still struggling while TMac was clutch to hit that last shot.

Yao is just out of this world to score 33 and only missing one shot. thats just amazing. And Tracy is just too good and nearly got a triple double. Barry was awesome as he came off the bench to get some much needed points. Hope we keep this up. Dont get over our heads and play each game as if its our last.

The chance for a sweep on our homecourt is still a possibility.

Yeah i'm calm now, I can post sensibly now. I can't believe we won on their home court twice! Now I know that we're a great road team and all but still! It kind of makes me wish we played the whole series there...It seems whenever I predict a loss it comes out to be a victory, probably just a coincidence though.

Like I said before in my all caps lock super excited posts, Yao and T-Mac were amazing together, Tracy flirted with a triple double only missing out on it by 2 rebounds he played 46 minutes and played great defence with 3 steals and also 3 blocks. Yao Ming's stat line speaks for itself, only missing one shot to end up scoring 33 points on the self proclaimed best center in the west? he also went on to grab 8 boards and block 2 shots in 36 minutes, which is a long time for him.

Now for the rest of the team, I was incredibly suprised at Bob Sura, I think he went on to score 3 threes in a row in the fourth quarter not one after the other but still, that was great, especially when we were down by 8 points at one stage, Mike James scored 10 points and had 2 steals. Jon Barry at first was 0/3 from the field then he lit it up scoring 3 threes in a row! David Wesley was shooting very poorly, it looks like he's in his slump again he was only 1/10 from the field, but did put in 6 assists, he ended up with three points. Both Deke and Padgett scored 2 points each, which isn't that much but without them who knows how the game could of ended..

Just wanted to add that, yes Yao and TMac carried the team offensively, but I also want to commend the whole Rockets team on their defensive effort. Especially Ryan Bowen. I don't know what he does or how he does it... (it doesn't seem much) but his defense on Dirk was quite effective. Props also to Tmac for wanting, and successfully, defending Dirk for the most part. Yes he scored 26pts but he also shot a dismal 8-21 (38%) from the field.

Now the rest of Dallas' team actually stepped up and shot 50% as a team (even with Dirk's 8-21), but we shot even better (54.8% as a team), forced more TOs (14 Dallas TOs vs 11 Rockets TOs) and doubling Dallas in the steal category.

However, I do want to address a troubling issue: rebounding. We got killed in the boards (41 - 29) and I just have to thank our lucky stars for making most of our shots tonight. If JVG doesn't solve this rebounding problem, we will not advance very far. I honestly don't want to take away anything from our win tonight, but I just hope we solve the rebounding situation somehow...

Anyways, I'm still jittery and happy that we swept the Mavs at their homecourt so far [IMG] I hope Tmac and Yao can come up big again

Room for Improvement?

Great game by the Rockets and I'm really proud of the whole team, especially Ming since I've been down on him before.

There are a few comments I'd like to make, though. They may just be my stupid opinions, but I'll say them anyway. [IMG] First, we got outrebounded really badly again and that still worries me, inspite of the commanding lead we now have with Dallas down and going to Houston. What if it continues against our next opponent (and, yes, I believe there will be a next one [IMG] )? Next, Ming had the entire front court of Dallas in foul trouble in the first half, but we didn't really go back to him much in the second half. I think some of it was because Dallas was really trying to deny him the ball, but, come on, you gotta keep getting Ming the ball in a game like this. It might have even caused Dampier to foul out and look how important that could have been. Finally, in the midst of all this great play from starters and from the bench and while we were winning our 2nd strainght in Dallas, David Wesley shot 1 for 10 and had a really bad game, if you ask me. I've thought for some time now that both Jon Berry and Mike James were both more productive for this team than Wesley, so why is Wesley still starting every game? Maybe Berry can't do it all game long (age), but I bet Mike James can. Mike James can shoot. [IMG]

After posting the above, I looked at James and Wesley's numbers for the year and Wesley's were better than I thought, but James' were still slightly better, except for free throws where Wesley has an advantage. Maybe I'm making too big a deal out of it, but I think James is the better player and I think Berry is the best non-star on this team.

But, look at it this way: Wesley went 1 for 10, Dallas shot WAY better in this game, McGrady actually had fewer points than I think he'll average this post season, AND THE ROCKETS STILL WON!!! Why? Because the Rockets beat them in every category except rebounds and 3 point shooting. Oh, and Dirk didn't score 50 or nothin' like that (thanks Ryan). [IMG]

Thursday's game is gonna be LOUD!!!

LOL at the pic sniper!! yeeehawww!
The Rockets played great! Yao and Tmac were incredible!! Honorable mentions: Ryan Bowen for the great D and hustle, Jon Barry and Sura for making big shots and MJ for some points of the bench but I still think he shoots too much for a backup. All in all, White Boy Power Squad and our 2 stars won this game! yahooo [IMG] We're a better team on the road so I do hope that we can play the way we did the past 2 games at home.

Game 3 will test the Mavs more than they have been all year. They are a great road team, but Houston has been playing well at home... the electrified crowd is gonna be a huge extra thing. If the Mavs hang their heads after this loss, I expect a Rockets blowout win. This is the time for Avery to earn Mark Cuban and his predecessor's trust and his paycheck.

We're in a good position, but the Mavs are very capable of winning two straight in Houston and taking control of the series. The Rockets haven't been very good at home all year, and the Mavs are one of the best road teams. One could argue, just looking at the records, that the Mavs should be favored in the upcoming games. I'm just glad we gave ourselves a cushion by going up 2-0. The series is far from over.

Good pic Sniper [IMG] They were killing Shawn Bradley during halftime in the TNT studios! It's not like this is anything new. It's only the 5332734th time Bradley's gotten dunked on.

Anyway, great shot by T-Mac. He made a great play and him and Van Gundy had a nice game plan. He trusted Mac and he produced. Very excited edge-of-your seat kind of game.

Unfortunately, dunking on Bradley is not a surprising feat anymore, and I guess if I weren't a Mavs fan, I'd even find it funny.

Props to the Houston Rockets They won 2 games on Dallas' home floor, and have 2 games at home to accomplish a sweep. A very likely scenario, given how the series has gone so far.

I also want to commend JVG's show of class and perspective in his post game comments. The series is NOT over, but the Rockets are half way there.

The Mavs have a deep hole from which to climb, but if they can show the effort they showed in game 2, they have a chance to make a series out of this yet.

GREAT Win..........and LOL @ TMacs dunk on Bradley.........but I wouldn't neccessarily call it a facial, because in order for it to be a facial, one actually has to be lookin up............Bradley ducked his head down like The Armageddon was coming......The bottom line is I think the Rockets have a lot more guts than Dallas.....Van Horn passed up about 4 open looks in the last couple of minutes.....I think this is the one Dallas had to have tonight, because dirk if said himself it was a must win and if they didn't they were gonna be in trouble.
