<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I know this won't be a popular response in the Nets Forum, but I really question Lawrence Frank's coaching in the series so far. He's always two moves behind Van Gundy and cannot counter any of Van Gundy's adjustments.

Game 2 - Shaq gets his 3rd foul and goes to the bench, so the Heat bring in Mourning. Instead, of taking out Collins who had 2 fouls, he leaves him in, and Collins picks up a 3rd foul on a stupid reach in. As soon as Shaq went out, Collins should have been substitued out for. The only player the Nets have with any size to give Shaq trouble is Collins.</div>

I agree that Coach Franks hasnt been at his coaching best in this series. But it is hard for him to adjust to every move Van Gundy makes especially when you are talking frontcourt moves cause Van Gundy as alot more to work with, Shaq, Zo, Haslem, Lattner, even Doleac compared to just Krstic, Collins, Robinson. He cant play Scali at the 4 against Maimi cause he would be giving alot of size without gaining a quickness advantage on the other end. Plus we are already getting killed on the boads.

As far as not taking JC out in that situation looking back on it he probably should have taken him out. But to be fare to Franks, you have to the impact Zo had in the 1st half when Franks to JC out to go small. And just Krstic was the main big, Zo owned the boards and pretty much controlled paint on both ends of the court. So he had to be a bit hessistant with taking JC out in that same exact situation in the 2nd half.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Game 1 - Van Gundy substituted in Laettner for Haslem, because the Nets were giving him open looks, and Haslem can't shoot. Laettner came in, and the Nets didn't adjust to him so he shot 4-4.</div>

I know that from the high post free throw area is what Lattner does best....but I think as a coach with Shaq catching oops at the rim like he did and Zo even in game 1 having a impact down low, and you then decide to double almost every trip, Lattner is a guy your willing to leave to try to do a better job covering the basket.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets have been beat soundly in every game, when that happens you have to blame your coach. I realize the players are missing a lot of open looks, but the Nets are not a strong perimeter team to begin with. They need schemes to take advantage of their mismatches on the court, but instead they are settling for what the Heat give them.</div>

The problem is that our most favoravle is mis-matches should be out on the perimeter. But our stars Kidd and Carter are playing extremely sub-par, no matter what a coach does if you can literally take a teams stars out of a series then the game should be easy for you like it is for the Heat right now. Lets be honest Kidd and Carter got to step it up or New Jersey will not be returning to Miami for a game 5. You cant ask much more from Krstic then what he gave last night, Best is giving you productive minutes off the bench. But if Kidd and Carter arent playing at a high level the rest is meaningless, cause those are the guys that win games for us.

Lawrence Frank has plenty of disadvantages going into this series, but they've faced the Heat 5 times now, and have been blown out in each meeting. He's his approach is to conventional, he tried stopping Shaq and got burned by the Heat's perimeter game, he tried stopping Wade, and Alonzo had a field day inside. The Nets need to try something creative, and turn this into an ugly game. They need to pressure the ball and start gambling more on defense. Making the game ugly is going to break the Heat's rhythm and create fast break opportunites for the Nets. Even though the Heat can still play uptempo basketball, it's not what they do best. Putting pressure on the ball makes it harder for the Heat to setup inside because they will be fighting against the 24 second clock. It also puts more pressure on Wade, Jones, or Dooling and this gives Kidd a stronger edge.

The Nets need to force the Heat into ugly basketball to win this series.

Honestly pressuring the ball for the Nets is easier said then done against the Heat, the Nets only really have two guys who can put alot of on-ball pressure One is Jacque Vaughn but he is injured and the other is Travis Best but he is too small to cover anyone but Damon Jones. And the problem is Damon Jones doesnt do much of the ball handling or playmaking, its Wade. And Wade cant be covered by Best cause Best is giving up to much size. Jason Kidd is a great team defender but not that good of an on-ball pressure type of defender. If you think about who, during every playoff run was the guy that put pressure on opponents ball handlers, it was Kerry Kittles cause he great at that. He did it last year against Marbury in the Knicks series, he was the only guy able to put pressure on Tony Parker in the finals a couple of years ago etc. Kerry has always been that guy the Nets used to set the table with pressuring ball handlers, but right now New Jersey just doesnt have anyone like that.

What should nets do now ? no any idea ? Vince get 40, RJ 25, Nenad 20, Kidd 15 and 10 assists?? we must play a outstanding team ball, or we still lose to heat even they don't have Shaq.

The Nets simply need to fearlessly drive to the hoop and get Miami, into foul trouble. This probably will not happen because as soon as the Nets make a few jumpshots, they will continue shooting them.

After watching the first to games, I do not think that the Nets have a chance at winning at all. Miami is too experienced, and Stan Van Gundy is not letting his players relax.

Sorry but I think it's our year to go far. Or hopefully win it all.
Stan got mad when the lead was cut to like 12 with 2 minutes to go. This guy's never happy. I doubt he'd smile even if he wins a championship.
