shoot im on for it in fact ill start the channel. we will be.. well i will be connected on mIRC at this server and channel IRC Network : gamesurge IRC Server : Gamesurge Random US Server Channel : Rockets@JBB i will also be availible on aim my screen name is L L L chin0 L L L and i will be on most likely be on 1 or 2 hours before the game. i will start a chat room about 15-30 minutes before tip-off for AIM users and iw ill try to keep everybody updated on what is happening in each room. i do not have msn at the moment so if you msn users feel like joining us aim = 5.9 mb mIRC = 1.8 mb mirc is a relatively easy chat program and simple while aim is also a good chat program but more complex. i will try to organize everything tommorow on time so that we will know whats going on so feel free to join whoever wants to join our chatroom on either aim or mIRC.
Well just inform me guys if you're planning to have a chatroom for tomorrows game. Most of us are still undecided whether to use AIM or MIRC. What I'm hoping ahem we're all hoping is the Rockets to advance deep into the playoffs so there will be more excitement in the chatroom.
Hey I just downloaded this, so far i've installed filled in my details clicked "File, Connect" then waited for it to connect then I typed in "Rockets@JBB" then clicked Join..is that right? no one is in the room right now but yeah...My name in there is D-Mac by the way...but did I connect properly? or did I miss out on something?
cheen0, i can't find the server gamesurge. So i try random US undernet server and i found Dan Lee there.. so probably we can use that server instead of gamesurge. Btw, are we all set using mirc?
Oh I forgot about the server...I'm in the gamesurge one now...I think but there's no one online, I saw whatever but I was away so didn't get a chance to talk to him... So this is what I did for people who also aren't too sure... 1. Downloaded mIRC 2. Installed mIRC 3. Entered in my details 4. Clicked File, Select Server 5. in IRC Network, I chose Gamesurge (but All worked for me too) 6. in IRC Server, I chose "Gamesurge Random US Server" 7. I then clicked "Connect to Server" it took a while and I had to press Connect in the file menu a few times but it eventually got there after 2 tries or so... 8. It asked me what Channel I wanted to Connect to so I typed in Rockets@JBB 9. I'm connected and waiting for people to talk to...
ok here are some pictures to help you guys with it hopefully it will help first hit that button that has been circled to go find the network and server we are on. when you get there where theres IRC Network right below it is a drop down menu, look for GAMESURGE and select it. then where it says IRC Server there is also a drop down meny below it as well, select GAMESURGE:RANDOM US server like this [img=http://img193.echo.cx/img193/7471/irc23iw.th.jpg] then after all that is done hit connect to server and after it has been connected there is a list that pops up. when it does on teh space provided type in " #Rockets@JBB " like this
Great tutorials. I'll get mIRC tonight, but I probably won't be around during the game. It's either watching or discussing the game for me, and I would rather watch it live. We can also set specific dates to hold chats; doesn't have to be just game nights.
I can't join an IRC channel for the life of me... keeps getting msgs like "unable to resolve server" or "too many connections from your class" or something like that.... Help? or use AIM?

Help? or use AIM? </div> what kind of connection do you have? have you followed the step by step, if everything you did like the tutorial maybe your firewall or virus blocking tools are the source? if you have 56k maybe your connecting slow. im a mIRC newbie too, i guess we could go to aim and use the chat on aim as well im up for that, whatever you guys decide im down for it.
has everyone downloaded mirc yet? and btw what happened to Trip? i was going to ask him whether he has downloaded the mirc or not and i'm shocked to see that he's a suspended member now. Why is he getting suspended?

Well this topic is about a chat room, and what happened to Trip really isn't any of our buisness, I don't think he'd really want us to talk about it behind his back while he can't respond and defend himself anyway. Also how did game 5 go with mIRC? I was at school so I couldn't join you guys but I hope it all went well...
hahahha.. it REALLY went well, i entered the chat room and guess what.. no one there! lol! so i will force each of you now to download mirc, to follow the instruction guideline, and to join the chat room for tonight's game. I will be there waiting for all of you. And Dan, skip your class!!! lol
Haha, I wish I could...But anyway i'm in the room most of the time when i'm online anyway, we can still discuss things without a game being on...It's a shame there was nobody in the chat room except whatever, I hope before we get eliminated or win the finals, that we can have at least 10 people in there at once... Game 7 I should be there, as it's on a Sunday for me, so please try and get yourself into this room, we have lots of fun even when theres only 4 people on I understand if there's a game on and you'd rather watch it then talk about it, everyone would, but still try and come on before or after the game, it'd be really great if we could get something happening.
I busted my butt, got this stupid mirc thing to work, and I was in the chatroom yesterday by myself for around 5 minutes, nobody was there So I just screamed and yelled by myself in the chatroom with the game on hahah.. PS: Wireless internet + Laptop = OWNAGE!!!
you must've been into the wrong server, or wrong channel. Cause i was there yesterday until the end of the 1st quarter. No one came around so i decided to quit after 1st.
Although I really wanted mIRC to succeed, I don't think we'll ever get enough people to download it, and work it out....I'm not really a fan of AIM but if that's the only way we can get enough people so we can finally engage in some proper conversation I say we just try and switch to that.
