This thread is for the offical NBA awards, not your own. So people please don't bother posting your predictions in here. Only talk about the awards that are anounced. I will post a press release when each award is anounced and you can then disuss It, that way we won't have loads of different threads about the awards in this forum. As there will also be threads in the team forums for the players who win each award as well.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Steve Nash Named league MVP Phoenix Suns guard Steve Nash will be awarded the NBA's Most Valuable Player on Sunday. Nash has edged Miami center Shaquille O'Neal to become just the third point guard in 40-plus years to win the league's highest individual honor, according to sources familiar with the results. The others are Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson Apparently tipping this vote in Nash's favor was the Suns' 33-game improvement -- from 29 wins to a league-leading 62 wins -- after signing Nash away from the Dallas Mavericks in the offseason. </div> Full Story
<div align="center"> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Steve Nash, who led the third-biggest turnaround ever for an NBA team, is the winner of the most valuable player award for the just-completed regular season, NBA sources said Friday. Nash looks like he?ll be joined by Mike D?Antoni in the awards picture, as a Tribune survey shows the Suns coach with a significant lead for the NBA?s coach-ofthe-year prize. Both would become the franchise?s second winner of the respective awards. Cotton Fitzsimmons won the coaching honor in 1988-89, while Charles Barkley won the MVP in ?92-93. The official MVP announcement is set for Sunday, while the coaching award will be announced Tuesday. Nash, once an obscure high school player in Victoria, British Columbia, won the MVP in an unconventional way. </div> </div> Source
