World-renown hip hop star, music executive and Nets part-owner Jay-Z has co-produced a playoff song for the Nets, along with Trackmasters Tone and Poke, which will debut during Game 3 of the Nets-Miami Heat first-round playoff series Thursday at the Continental Airlines Arena. The Takeover is a remake of Jay-Z?s 2001 hit of the same name, which was featured on his CD ?The Blueprint.? The Takeover was recorded last week by Roc-a-fella Records recording artists Young Gunz, whose newest album is being released on May 24. The song will be used as the Nets? anthem during the 2005 Playoffs, and is available as an exclusive download on www.njnets.com. ?We are thrilled that Jay-Z and Trackmasters Tone and Poke has devoted their time to producing a song that captures the excitement of Nets Playoff Basketball,? said Brett Yormark, the president and CEO of Nets Sports & Entertainment. ?Our fans are going to love this and the atmosphere at the game is going to be off the charts.?</div> Nets Official Website It's a free download of the song you might as well listen to it. I'm a big Jay-Z fan so I've heard all of his songs and this has to be his worst song ever since he's rapping on the Nets! Haha, just kidding. I think with the excitement with them being home, the song will have extra meaning to it.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">Hove isn't even rapping in this, it's the Young Hunz, he just "produced" it. The track is alright...</div> I didn't even listen to it yet, but I can only imagine the type of quality it has.

You guys have something in common too like SD was a flop so was the Knicks season. haha Jay-z: "The new kings of the tri-state, go against Kidd & Carter seal your fate, think not get bury, them other dudes went from John Starks and Patrick Ewing to Tim Thomas and Stephon Marbury. Oh what a shame they have become so Lame, things in the garden just dont seem the same, went from a hustlers heart of Oakley to Crawford's I dont care if we lose as long as I get my 20 by the end of the game." <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Haha, just kidding. </div> Me too.

If that was a real rhyme I need to get that song but if you did it yourself I have to say that it was very well done. True Jay-Z fashion.

Jay-Z may be a Nets guy, but he'll never forget the other NY team, or the players born and raised there.

Why would Jigga say that about Crawford when Crawford uses his S-Dots? Did you see that commerical?

Yeah, MJ is right that is just something I made up while I was posting. Crawford is Memphis Bleeks new video and rolls with them to the 40/40 club all the time. There is a rumor that Crawford is even dating Foxy Brown, but not for sure how much truth it is to that. As far as Steph and Jigga being cool, I heard they arent anymore because Jay-z had a song called Lala on the Bad boys 2 sound track, where he says something like dont think Iam Marbury out this bitch run up on me at the light and you could lose your life. Making fun of how Steph has got rob several times in NYC and almost got car jacked one time. And Steph got offended by the line. I meant that all in fun guys, nothing serious......
