Owner Glen Taylor said Wednesday that he and Wolves Vice President Kevin McHale were open to the idea, even after McHale fired him Feb. 12 after a 25-26 start, that Saunders could return as coach.

"That's why Kevin didn't hire another coach," Taylor said. "We were open to that from the very beginning ... but he thought it was best to move on. So we're past that now. We know where we're going."</div>

Typical Glen Taylor. Too scared to hire someone from outside the organization. It's pathetic that his first coaching candidate is a guy who he just fired. I am glad Flip turned it down. It's time for him and the franchise to move on. It's time to go take a chance on some guy outside the organization. You gotta take risks and hire someone from another organization. You can't be too loyal to your guys who you were comfortable with. You gotta go with someone new.

Also why would Flip want to come back especially when he has other choices that are better options than the Timberwolves.

Flip did the Wolves a favor.
