I am practically drooling knowing that we'll have the League's best backcourt trio next season. Not to mention that Krstic is going to be one amazing player; it's only his rookie year and he's good already, and he can only get better and better. Anyone notice how his rebounding has improved dramatically? Jason Kidd. Vince Carter. Richard Jefferson. Nenad Krstic. This is a team GMs, coachs, and fans dream about. Whether we win the Title this season or not (yeah I havn't given hope), Nets fans everywhere can feel good about the upcoming season.
The Nets will definitely be a top 6 team in the East next year. Having Jefferson at 100% will be a big boost but I think that you guys still should have a better center. Collins will be a good backup but he is no starter. With someone who could give you a double double each night at the five, I would consider the Nets championship contenders. That is, if the Big Three stay out of injury troubles.
Ya, you Nets fans have a lot to look forward to next season. The Kidd-RJeff-Vince trio should be just nasty. Along with Kristic, who is gonna be a monster in the league with some work and experience.
it may not be the best backcourt next yr. but i am also excited for us we have a chance of competing with RJ hopefully staying healthy for the whole yr.
I think that the Nets are in a great position. They have their core intact and have about $5 million to spend in the offseason (before signing their draft pick(s) and not including the exceptions) and have good roster flexibility. The Nets just have to hope they draft someone that'll help right away and find some inexpensive players to backup the main guys and the Nets should be poised for another playoff run.
yea i cant wait till next season and which new players might be on the team. hopefully there wont be injuries like their has been this year. im lookin foward to next season and hopefully the playoffs
Yeah the Nets are pretty well off with their backcourt and up-and-coming big in Krstitch. But we will see who has the best backcort when the next season comes...
dream? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting kdub:</div><div class="quote_post">Jason Kidd. Vince Carter. Richard Jefferson. Nenad Krstic. Most people wouldnt dream about having nearly no interior defense. The fact is that they will probably do well next year but in my mind they wont be contenders until they add some interior defense. Krstic just doesnt cut it on the defensive end.

I'm excited for them though (and the Warriors). <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">GMs, coaches and fans dream about? I don't know what to say, you have to know that all 4 of these guys are or will be impact players. Two of them are considered to be the top 10 (even #1) in their respective position, one of them is steadily increasing his rank among wing players, and the last is regarded as one of the best young and up and coming big men in the league. What does interior defense have to do with the players I listed? 3 of them are backcourt players, and Nenad is just a rookie. He's only had real playing time for a half a season, and is quicker and smarter than most people think. The great thing about him is that he is constantly improving his game, and fixing his weaknesses. I'm confident that in time he'll become at least an able defender. I do agree that signing another front court player will have dramatic implications next year, especially someone who could play good defense or hustle on the boards. But even without that addition, the Nets future looks very promising.

I think it should definitely be interesting to see what New Jersey does. I also think it should spark something in the tri-state srea which I like. I really hope I see the Knicks and Nets in the playoffs again with healthy rosters. It'll be interesting to see what goes down.
im xcited to see nenad be a Gasol-type of player nxt year..and VC-RJ play like MJ-Pip...then a hardworking defensive minded rebounding machine PF... actually, i just want to see an injury free season...I couldn't ask for more than an injury free season...
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting raptors4life:</div><div class="quote_post">Is J-Kidd staying with the Nets for next season?</div> I do not see why not.
Nets has VC & Amazing Krstic & RJ, Kidd would stay because nets has a nice big man now. we only need to make it better in bench and PF position, that is almost perfect
by no means <div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Yea, no coach ever wants to have the best PG in the league, 2 very good wingmen, and a young up and coming big man, yea, they'd definately hate it Yea, Vince is injury prone and ageing, I mean with him playing more than 73 games the past 2 seasons and not having any significant injuries, that's always considered injury prone...</div> I am by no means saying that they arent a good group of players but I am saying that they are also not 'dreamy'. For a team that in reality isnt going to be able to contend next year saying that coaches and players "dream" about them is just stupid. Despite being MOSTLY healthy the last two years Vince would still have to be labled injury prone. He has missed 75 games over the last four years, an extraordinary amount. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What does interior defense have to do with the players I listed? 3 of them are backcourt players, and Nenad is just a rookie. </div> I was saying that with their WHOLE TEAM they have poor interior defense as was evident in the sweep by the Heat. Nenad is just a rook but even for a rook he is a very poor defender.

But they will easily be in the mix as one of the better teams in the East, other then the Heat with Shaq everybody else in the East is perimeter orintated. And when your talking perimeter three its going to be hard to find a better mix at the PG/SG/SF then Jason, Vince & Rich. The Nets interior offense is much worst then their interior defense. Yes, they dont have any shot blockers. but Collins is now becoming more willing to throw his body around on Defense. And it is making him a more solid on ball defender. Krstic still has room to grow defensively, no doubt. But Cliff Robinson was solid defensively, I dont think he will be back next year tho...I agree that the interior needs to be addressed but my point is that the Nets interior defense looked far worst then it realy is because they were facing the Heat...And they have on guy that the Nets just dont have any frontline guy close to big enough to matchup against him, so it led to alot of breakdowns in our defense, even tho Shaq's indivual # didnt look that great, his pressence was a killer.
