Well, in the men's basketball games, what rules do you think should be added, adjusted, or taken out? One thing that I cannot stand in college basketball is the possession aarow. This rule drives me crazy. Too many players and teams get screwed in situations because of the possession aarow. In one certain game from two seasons ago, Mississippi State vs Kentucky, MSU was screwed because of the possession aarow. It was late in the game and MSU was up a basket. Kentucky had the possession aarow. The Wildcats missed a couple shots, MSU recovered a rebound, and a Wildcat player jumped right over and grabbed the ball, forcing a jump ball. The Wildcats went on to recieve possession and ended up winning the game. Maybe I might not have the story right, if you remember it correctly, please correct me, but either way, MSU was screwed because of the possession aarow. I feel as though men's basketball would be much better off without the possession aarow. They should follow what the NBA does in a jump ball situation; have the two players jump for it, plain and simple. What this does, is it gives both players who hustled for the ball a fair chance. In this situation, no player is getting the short end of the bargain because each player has an equal opportunity of getting possession of the ball.
I agree with you I am not a big fan of the possession arrow either, is it really that hard to just make the guys jump it up. It kills when it is late in a game and you have the possession arrow determine if a team is going to win or lose. The five second guarded rule also can get on my nerves at times but not as much as the possession arrow, plus it is called less often then a jump ball.
