<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When word of the decision bounced around basketball circles, Chris Monter made sure to double-check the day's date.

Notre Dame junior Torin Francis remains committed to exploring his professional basketball future, but once the power forward declared for the 2005 NBA draft, the publisher of the Monter Draft News found it a bit baffling.

"I had to look at the calendar and make sure it wasn't April Fool's Day," Monter said of the mid-April afternoon 17 days ago when he learned that Francis had applied for early entry into the June 28 draft. "I was like, 'What's he thinking?' He had an OK sophomore season but fell off the map this year.

"You want to come out early playing your best basketball."

Instead, the 6-foot-11 Francis will gauge his professional options after a season that many would classify as a disappointment.</div>

Francis is making a horrible decision here. He had a pretty good sophomore season like the article states. He averaged 14 pts and 8 boards that year his sophomore year, but I have no clue what happened to him this year. He only averaged 9 pts and 7 boards, so I can't see him getting drafted unless he impresses in the camps.
