<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Memphis guard Jason Williams took out his anger over how he was quoted in a newspaper column by grabbing a pen out of the writer's hand after the Grizzlies' playoff loss to Phoenix on Sunday. The Suns had just swept the Grizzlies by winning Game 4. Reporters were in the Memphis locker room when Williams twice took the pen out of the hand of Geoff Calkins, a columnist for the (Memphis) Commercial Appeal.</div> Link to small article Anyone see this? He looked like a mad man. He had to get players to push him back (Miller and some others). I haven't heard Jason Williams talk before outside of some 30 second interviews...All I have to say is wow, he's such a try hard. I feel sorry for the reporter though because he look innocent and scared. If I'm Jerry West, I look to trade him this offseason and do what I can to re-sign Watson if I can't find a PG in teh draft. "You can talk to TNT, but don't answer this [reporter's] questions," Williams said. "I'm not letting him write anything. I didn't do anything. I just took his pen." - Jason Williams
Wow the Grizzlies have become a complete mess down the stretch. They are already losing Swift and Bonzi in free agency for nothing in return. Sounds like the team is completely divided like the Blazers were when Mo Cheeks was coaching.

It gives Dahntay Jones PT, who I believe is the more talented and better player than Wells.

Even if it is for a second round pick or future considerations, or at worst an expiring contract, I still think the Grizzlies are losing out big time. Stromile Swift is a versatile big man, I'm sure a team would offer a mid to late 1st rounder for him. Bonzi Wells can start for most teams in the league still. He's always had problems with authority, but you can't question his basketball skills.

Still not a reason for J.Will to blow up though.

This year he's an unrestricted FA so there's no chance that the Grizzlies will get anything for him. If a team decided to sign him, they would sign him straight up because the Grizz own none of his rights, except Bird rights, which doesn't matter because he's not even considering returning.
Yeah, many west virginians talk like that, he's not really trying to be anything. I thought it was pretty funny that he took his pen actually, I don't know why, but it was.
I'm very torn between whether to condem Williams or accept him. I don't want to see Jason Williams traded, because I believe he's one of the most players in the NBA. He obviously still hasn't gotten this attitude problem fixed, and he might never get it fixed, but when he starts cooperrating with teammates and coaches, the results should be scary. I can't support him in this incident though. The reporter had the right to write whatever he wanted about Jason Williams. You can't tell me that it was the first time Jason Williams has had bad press. In Sacramento he told some Asian hecklers that he'd shoot them like Pearl Harbor and Vietnam.
