Steve Nash wins 2005 MVP over Shaq. Heat fans will have to wait another year to get their first MVP award. LINK http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs2005...marc&id=2054677 Should Shaq have won MVP?? What's your take?
I don't think so although I would love SHaq to have gotten it... If the Suns didn't have better record than us and if Steve Nash didn't give 10-11 dimes a night, then Shaq should have won it but Nash and the Suns did too good this year.
Of course Shaq should have won the MVP award. I don't understand how you can't give the award to the most dominating player in the game. Nash has done a great job with leading the Suns to the best record in the West. There are two reasons I think Shaq should have got the MVP Award. Shaq can score anytime he wants to and can grab at least 15 rebounds a game. He is also a very good defensive player. This makes him the most dominating player in the game. No player can guard him and other have trouble scoring in the post when Shaq' is in the game. Sure, Nash is a great player and has done an extremelly good job in leading the Suns to this surprise year. I'm giving credit where credit is due, I have much respect for Nash and he deseved the award as much as Shaq' does but I really do think Shaq' deserved it a little more.
MVP voting needs to be reformed. The fact that PJ Brown of the 18-win New Orleans Hornets received a 5th place vote is beyond absurd.

Shaq deserves the MVP award more then Nash and here is why: 1. Shaq dominated the Eastern Conference and is the biggest reason the Heat are favorites to win the Eastern Conference Championship and are also favorites to win the Finals. Without Shaq the Heat wouldn't be a great team but without Nash the Suns could manage and probably still make the playoffs. This shows that Shaq is more important to his team or in other words, the most VALUABLE. 2. Steve Nash was playing with 2 All-Stars. Stick any PG in the Suns system with Marion and Stoudamire and most of them would do well. Shaq's best teamate would obviously be Wade but Marion and Stoudamire are just to much to handle for other teams. All Nash had to do was run down court and make a pass and Marion/Stoudamire did the rest. Congratualtions to Nash but I think Shaq should have taken the award.
