Okay maybe the third one is just weird but man i think the rox will need alot of tissues to let it out.
Fire Van Gundy? Why is it that whenever we lost people always blame the coach? I think JVG has only done good for us, he's fought and fought to get us where we are and sure we lost, but does that have nothing to do with the lack of point production of the bench in Game 7?
No reason to be depressed, just pissed. Its not phill jackson, it is our supporting cast excluding yao and TMac. All this series they have done wery inconsistent work. There are only three guys on this team who you can say really care about winningg in the playoffs. To hell with all those danm other guys.
there's absolutely no reason to fire JVG.. even though phil jackson is a great coach but he will not be interested to coach the rockets, furthermore there's always an adjustment period when changing coach. i think JVG is the right coach for us now, we dont have to change to coach, what we have to do is complete the pieces of the puzzle, finding the right role players around tmac and yao
I find it amazing that people are calling for JVG's head after his first year of coaching with Yao and Tracy McGrady where he lead the team to thier best record since the 97 season. Yes, what a horrible coach he is.
No need to blame JVG, although I thought he should've played Mike James more last night (eventhough it wouldn't have made a difference) he still did a great job this year of putting this team together.........if we can get a PF this offseason, that would help us a lot.
Tyson Chandler.... I never thought I would say it, but this guy would be the perfect compliment to Tmac and Yao.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting chineseafro:</div><div class="quote_post">Tyson Chandler.... I never thought I would say it, but this guy would be the perfect compliment to Tmac and Yao.</div> No, the best compliment would be a player we already had on our roster a few years ago: Eddie Griffin.
KG and Kidd, then you guys will win it all. But right now your supporting cast is really good. Mike James - a very athletic, quick, great shooter Bob Sura - good shooter, grity defender Wesly - good shooter, quick and a good defender Barry - basically a hard-worker who hustles and can hit the 3 Dekembe - when given 30 minutes, he can still outplay most centers in this league. He has the mental set to outrebound, block, and is capable of scoring. I think you really need a PF and stop relying on Yao so much on the defensive end, b/c he gets into foul trouble. Stromile Swift would be great for you guys, or Donyell Marshall or maybe Shareef could do it.
^^^Sura isn't a good shooter...........but yes I would love to see Marshall or Swift in a Rockets uni next season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Hunter:</div><div class="quote_post">No, the best compliment would be a player we already had on our roster a few years ago: Eddie Griffin.</div> I've been thinking about Eddie Griffin too, but he got himself into trouble (with drugs, I think) and it's really not the Rockets fault that he had to be let go. I knew not having him was going to hurt the Rockets really bad at some point, but having a healthy Juwan Howard would have helped a whole lot.
Yes it was depressing, only because I feel like Game 7 was not representative of the series...I give the Mavs credit for playing their A game...but this was a great season for the Rockets...I am sad, only because I felt that this team could go far in the playoffs...But I'm not mad or disappointed in them because I never felt it was about a lack of effort...i wish the Mavs well, but I'm convinced the Rockets will be the toughest team they face, assuming they dont face the Spurs...
I dread hearing anyone blame T-Mac or say that he's not a real winner or a real whatever they come up with. He did EVERYTHING he could and it wasn't enough even for him. The fact is that he STILL hasn't played on a team that had enough talent around him. Yao is still young, Mutumbo is too old to play starter minutes (they play the same position anyway), and who else do we really have? Role players are great, but we don't have enough overall talent right now (for a Championship, I mean). Besides, it doesn't make since to blame the best player on any team for that team's problems winning. Frankly, I think Dallas is about to find out that beating the Rockets in 7 doesn't prove they're ready for Championship contenders.
Actually I'm looking forward to next season with a healthy Bob Sura and Juwan Howard, and whatever moves Carroll Dawson makes in the offseason to improve the team.
yes, what is your point? His knees were bothering him this past season, hopefully he's healthy next season
we have enough talent and experience around t-mac and yao but i think they are very inconsistent , sometimes they are impressive, and somtimes they disappear, i think what we need to do is get an athletic PF who can blk shots and rebound and score some points and deal with the inconsistency of the role players

Houston needs a PF but not just anyone. An Atheletic one. The Rockets need someone who can make put back dunks and open shots. Even if he cant score very well, athelticism can make him a good defender with some Van Gundy knowledge.
