<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Seattle SuperSonics center Jerome James, who played at Florida A&M after growing up in Tampa, played so well in the first round against the Sacramento Kings that the Magic are getting nervous about their plan to pursue him this summer when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. The Magic will be looking for a center to replace Kelvin Cato next season, and James probably would have signed for the $5.5 million middle-class exception, which is all they will have under salary-cap rules. But the way he played against Sacramento, his price might have gone up. He has talked several times in the past about the possibility of playing in Orlando.</div> Source
I wonder what type of money he is going to be going for? If teams are going to risk investing a large contract in this one-year playoff errupting guy?

He'd be a nice fit, although I dont think hes necessarily deserving of a big contract...hes had ONE good series...his career does not reflect that of someone who deserves a big payday...hes a good rebounder and takes up space, but hes known for being inconsistent and underachieving...its a gamble signing someone like that to a big contract (i.e. Keith Van Horn/Erick Dampier)...

lol. The easily impressed media surely is influential. Jerome James is nothing more than a MLE player - he's only that because of his size. The only way I would justify him getting anything more than the MLE is if Orlando gets to play Sacramento every game But prove me wrong though. If Orlando does sign him for more through a sign-and-trade or something, I hope he steps up. Jameer and Dwight seem to be good peeps and I would love to see them do well, especially if they bring back those retro striped jerseys with the star! Peace.
I wouldn't mind signing James because I think he would be a nice big man that would help us out. Hopefully he plays well if the Magic do happen to sign him.
