Sometimes people give you good information and sometimes people give you erroneous information. I decided to post tonight in order to give you some ideas on what the Lakers are doing this offseason. Phil Jackson back to LA, 5 years for $60mil 2. Attempt to draft Gerald Green 3. Attempt to trade Odom/Butler/BGrant for KG/Wally 4. Draft a PG or PF 5. Attempt to re-hire Tex 6. Yea, i seen it @ CL. I always take these posts from folks as positive intake, but i always expect the worst so i wont be so let down. I do however expect Phill to sign wit LA again, though having KG would be a dream. I personally am hoping for Ron Artest.....but thats just me.
Minny would really have to be desperate for a change to do that. If i was them id just get better peices for KG...thats always easier.
Damn you Mel, you just "Jack Haleyed" the deal. If this deal goes through basically we traded Shaq for KG, Wally & a late 1st Round pick. This sits a lot better with me personally and salvages some of Kupcake's respect. What I don't understand is why landing KG & Wally is contingent on drafting Gerald Green? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Unfortunately, there is no scenario where we would be able to acquire Kevin Garnett if Gerald Green is not drafted. </div> If you can get KG in the Purple & Gold, you do it. Besides, Gerald Green really isn't anything special to begin with. He had a good McDonald's game, but prior to that performance in an All-Star type game (which means no defense played) he wasn't even considered a lottery lock. This kid has no where near the talent of a LeBron James or Carmelo Anthony.
I will make a mental note of this thread. If all 6 come true, then I hope you keep posting info on these boards. Good stuff if it's legit.
I could perhaps happend: 1. Minnesota failed last season, they need to make changes 2. KG has an enourmus salary, which may cause trouble for the Timberwolves (since they have Spree and Cassell too) But I dont think they'll trade Odom, Butler and Grant for KG and Wally, I think they would need Kobe for that kind of deal.

Well, as I said, Kobe would probably have to be in the deal for it to work. Both the Lakers and Timberwolves need changes for next season, and blockbuster deals usualy has the greatest effect.
KG is easier tradeable then Kobe is right now. For the simple fact, kobe is upset with having a losing season as is KG, but this is kobes 1st losing season...this is not near KG/wolves first losing season, KG said it himself....hes tired of losing. I dont see KG leaving, not anytime soon atleast. You just dont trade a KG and keep bringing in all that money he generates for being their franchise player.
Suckaaas??? THE Lurker/Insider SAID:"First, Phil Jackson is the Lakers first choice. The Lakers are Phil Jackson's first choice. Although a contract has not been signed, one is expected to be completed and signed by all parties involved by Wednesday". Is anybody else waiting for this to come into effect so that we can belive every word this dude said? I took off work so that i could pop champegne.....I'm Drunk!!
Theres no way KG is leaving. KG has been Minnesota's franchise guy literally, for all of their existence. How could the T'Wolves get better without KG unless they got Duncan or Shaq?
Yeah I was waiting all day for PJax to be announced coach as well. We still have a good 6.5 hours to go, so who knows. Jack Haley should take the opportunity to redeem himself by "being the first to break this story to you." So far I've read 3 insiders claiming KG will be a Laker. I think the bottomline is the Lakers are going to try and obtain KG in the off-season. This is great, but I'm sure once KG is "on-the-market" other teams will also be after him and the Lakers would surely be outbid, or end up overbidding for him. At least the Lakers are trying to get a blockbuster done again. Mr Bryant getting drunk off of champagne -- you light weight.
Champagne? hehe, it's all good The thought of having KG on the team brings a smile to my face, I hope it can be done, but if not atleast (hopefully) well have Jackson back as our head coach and well find the right role players this time around.
