Why is everyone jumping on this guy. Everywhere i go, people are complaining aboutt yao and how he is just trash. People need to leave him alone. Were you guys expecting the rocekts to win the championship?
When you look at him last year, he has really improved. He is a more reliable scorer (that goes especially in the playoff) and offensive weapon, his defense has improved quite a bit and he's taken the rocekts to a whole new level. I see a very promising career from this guy and i'm really noy understanding what everyone else sees in him, other than a little bit of weakness (that can be fixed), that they have to call him trash.

    Yao is NOT trash.

He is a solid center with the potential to be a dominant center. Practically every team in the league would trade their starting center for him in a minute.

Most of the anti-Yao backlash is in frustration to erroneous expectations of where he should be in his development. Yao is right on schedule. Rockets fans should be patient, you will get yours as long as you keep the McGrady and Yao tandem together.

yao is still improving, people just want to blame someone when the rockets lose. but yao should really work on his hands cuz he drops so many passes that sometimes cost us games

Don't worry about those people. They're just go about by what they see. They don't understand that just because someone is 7 foot 6 means they will have a stat line of: 25 PPG, 13 RPG along with 4 BPG. Scoring just doesn't come with having a height or strength of advantage. Scoring takes good court awareness, vision and feel for the game. Rebounding on the other hand is really based solely on positioning. So all in all, they just simply don't know what they're talking about because physique and overall body mass/strength doesn?t determine a players game because if it did Iverson would be a 12th man and Shawn Bradley would be an MVP.

But Yao has come along nicely. From playing in a not so physical league where the pace was in favor of him to playing in a much more physical and high octane league, it takes time to adjust. He's not going in the upper echelon of All-Stars in just three years like people were predicting him to be. And like you mentioned he has improved which is always a good sign. Give Yao like five more years, and you could potentially be hearing the ?best player in the league?.

So Yao is slow, a bad rebounder, drops passes sometimes... He's still probably the 2nd best C in the league. Teams still have to factor him into their game plans. Would any Rockets fans actually rather have Erick Dampier instead of Yao? I doubt it. The same goes for almost any other starting C in the NBA except for Shaq and MAYBE Ben Wallace or Brad Miller.

Ok, Yao is a trash. Then send him to free agent and see what actions other 31 teams will take.

Yea I get that alot at school. People say things like "Yao is Garbage". It's sad because some of these guys are on the basketball team and I (who am not) know more about basketball. Everyone who hates on Yao always seem to be the people that only care about Dunks, crossovers, and any other type of highlights.

In the playoffs Yaos numbers were:

    21.4 ppg
    7.7 rpg
    2.7 bpg
    .727 ft%
    .655 fg%

This series was a poor rebound series for yao but other than that Yao played well. During this series when Yao got the ball inside he was doing very well. Yao can dominate a game. But the problem I see is that he doesnt get the ball enough.

Just let these guys hate. Once the Rockets become a Serious title contender just pay attention to all the new bandwagon fans.

-As I was typing this post I just saw a new Yao commercial on TV. Hes riding in a old convertible car and stops at a gas station in the middle of no where. The owner of the gas station is an older country guy and keeps asking Yao if hes lost while he pumps his gas. Yao continues to say no and as he gets back into his car he points to his navigation system. It was a commercial for a navigation system but I forgot the brand of it.

This may be good for Yao because he may be playing with a chimp on his shoulder, so that could just help him elevate to the next level and just keep trying to get better and better.

Yao really needs to work on his defense so that he can stay outta foul trouble. He always seems to have at least 2 fouls by the end of the 1st quarter.

Please take no offense, afterall you are the coach of my favorite team [IMG]

    BUT

The cliche is either "he has a CHIP on his shoulder."

    OR

"he has a CHIMP on his back." (You can also use monkey instead of chimp).

    CLICHE Police out.
