International Flava Looking through the teams this year in the NBA 2005 FINALS there are many teams who have a bit of international flavour to them. The international game has really helped the San Antonio Spurs become the powerhouse team they are today. The unexplainable game of Manu Ginobilli has made the spurs unpredictable and amazing to watch. Tim Duncan has helped this team become defensive minded as well and Tony Parkers influence as point guard steers the ship. Phoniex has also used Steve Nash in a way that?s sent the worse then bad phoenix suns to the top of the NBA in one year. Some other noted teams are listed below. San Antonio- Only starter that?s American is Bruce Bowen! Emanual ?Manu? Ginobilli-Argentina Tony Parker-France Radoslav ?Rasho? Nesterovic-Slovenia Beno Udrih-Slovenia Tim Duncan-US Virgin Islands Sean Marks-New Zealand Phoniex Steve Nash-Canada Miami Wang Zhi-Zhi-China Seattle Vladimir Radmanovic-Serbia and Montenegro Houston Yao Ming-China Dikembe Mutombo-Congo Memphis Pau Gasol-Spain Iakovos "Jake" Tsakalidis-Greece Chicago Luol Deng-Sudan Andres Nocioni-Argentina Dallas Dirk Nowitzki-Germany Didier Ilunga-Mbenga-Congo Tariq Abdul-Wahad-France Pavel Podkolzine-Russia Philadelphia Samuel Dalembert-Haiti Detroit Carlos Delfino-Argentina Carlos Arroyo-Puerto Rico Darko Milicic-Serbia and Montenegro New Jersey Zoran Planinic-Croatia Nenad Krstic- Serbia and Montenegro Sacremento Darius Songalia-Lithuania Peja Stojakovic- Serbia and Montenegro Denver Nene-Brazil Luis Flores-Dominican Republic Eduardo Najera-Mexico Francisco Elson-Netherlands Non Playoff International Players Jamaal Magloire-Canada Andrei Kirilenko-Russia Toni Kukoc-Croatia Zydrunas Ilgauskas-Lithuania Michael Olowokandi-Nigeria Vlade Divac- Serbia and Montenegro Stanislav Medvedenko-Ukraine Mehmet Okur-Turkey Hidayet "Hedo" Turkoglu-Turkey
It just shows no matter what your nationality, your alway welcome to the NBA. Its really intresting seeing and I was even suprised on how many foreign players made the postseason. I was just thinking about today actually how many american players do the Spurs have. It was almost the same story in Dallas a couple years ago with Nowitzki, Nash, LaFrenz. It`s nice to see all this great talent from across the globe playing together.

wow theres a lot of serbia-montengro players i wish there were more canadian players in the nba, the talent here is amazing but you just cant see it because they draft only from american colleges and stuff.
Yeh he is considered american, but i just added him in there because he is from outside the us. even though the virgin islands are part of the us!

Some wer at weddings, some had previous engagements. Not to mention Tim Duncan said he's not returning to the US team after the past olympics. ALot of them also need some incentives now, which IMO is a bit sad. USA is loaded with players, but alot of them don't see any incentive for playing for hte international team among other things. Like Ray Allen said, it might be better if they were atleast paid.
