There have been grumblings of Steve Francis wanting out of Orlando or Weisbrod trading him. Anyone know anything definite or who he might get traded for?
at the moment i haven't heard anything about steve francis out of orlando? i'm wondering why he would want to get traded because i mean he just became a member of magic not a 2 long of a while ago. any more info and not RUMORS about this new post it on the main page of justbball as a new thread... i dont' think at the moment that he is gonna get traded
lol no one wants Francis...he's a tough competitor but he's selfish, plays too recklessly and loves controversy...he's too much of a risk for a contending team...
He's a great player, but sometimes he just puts too much of it upon himself. At times, he dribbles around with the ball way too much as well as trying to do too much. However, I think he's still a solid player that can shoot, run, pass (at times), and handle the pressure. Yeah, I've heard these rumors after Mobley got traded, which is pretty understandable since the guys played together for a lot of years.
I've read him going to Denver for Andre Miller + Filler during the trade deadline last year. He's also been rumored to go to the Lakers for Butler+Atkins+Slava or George or Vlade Final rumor was being traded to the Grizzles, probably for Jason Williams + Filler.

If Steve Francis likes Mobley so much, maybe the Kings could try to pull for him. However, I don't think that he is an upgrade over Mike Bibby. Bibby scores, dishes it out, turns the ball over less. Francis is the better rebounder, dribble penetrator and defender, though.
Yo Shape, I hope he they don't trade them to us. I doubt it though. We don't need two gaurds that dominate the ball. But Kobe can be more productive if he isn't handling the ball. He can be more of a slasher and shooting mid-range jumpshots instead of bringing it up against quicker little gaurds.

We don't need 3 players who need to dominate the ball to be effective on the team. I also don't think Francis would except his role in the triangle offense. He's an upgrade over Chucky or Tierre, but the Lakers need to use Butler to get a bigger player, not another offensive minded small.

But we need a point gaurd that can play d and shoot the three. Those two things are the things I want most out of our new point gaurd. I would be happy with Chucky coming off the bench for us as that bench streaky shooter. I admit he can shoot 3's very well but not play very good d.
I think Francis Will try to reunite with Cuttino again. If Cuttino doesnt return to the Magic, I think Fracis will try to get traded to where Cat ends up.

The best thing for him to do would be to just stay in Orlando and push for Weisbrod to sign Mobley. That way, he stays with his teamates, plays with Mobley and everyone is happy.

Yeah that is why I think signing Cuttino Mobley is a very key move the Magic need to make this offseason. Hopefully Mobley will come to us first and try to work out a deal so he can be reunited with his buddy.

I do think there's a good chance of Steve getting traded though, since Jameer is good enough to be a starting point guard, and Steve is probably undersized to be the SG all year.
A lot of the rumors at clublakers.com and LG Net have Francis going to the Lakers for: G Chucky Atkins, G/F Caron Butler, C Vlade Divac. And many of the "sources" there say it is really close to being done. Lakers are just waiting to get their coach, which will be Phil Jackson. I don't expect them to keep Francis but instead package him in another trade to get another star player.

This will not work at all. -Both of these players dominate the ball alot on offense. -Both like taking game winning shots. -Both havn't been known for making their teams better. -Both will have Lamar Odom, they will need to make him better and not weaken his game by limiting his touches If these two do get together they will definently need Phil Jackson as their coach.
It would be a good trade for the Lakers..Kobe should just catch and shoot, have Francis penetrate for him..I dont see it workin out tho lol
Im a huge Magic fan but Francis has to go. He is not a true point guard. He forces the drive too much and he is the turnover king. Francis could possibly get traded to Atlanta for their number 1 pick and we give them a future number 1. Atlanta is looking for youth and a backcourt and they seem interested in Francis. We might trade Francis to Denver for Andre Miller and Nene. Or to the Lakers for Caron Butler and Chuky Atkins.
