JJ says "No respect AT ALL" During a post game inteview, a reporter asked Jerome James if he had any respect for San Antonio and he responds with, "No, I have no respect for them AT ALL." He looks into the camera with a mean glare and walks away pimpstyle. Whats the deal with that? Highly unprofessional in my views. Sonic fans, what are your thoughts on those comments?
Not sure what's up with that. He was calling Tim Duncan the best forward in the league after the win. I reckon Jerome just gets really fired up and runs his mouth off when the adrenaline is high. No one doesn't respect the Spurs, no one.

Either way we gotta be pissed cuz the referees love Tim Duncan about as much as they love Michael Jordan and they hate Danny Fortson more then Dennis Rodman so we gotta offset it somehow and anger sounds like agood way to me.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Show them no respect," said center Jerome James, who was a perfect 7 for 7 from the field, scored 15 points and had a dazzling block of a Parker drive in the middle of the fourth quarter when the Sonics trailed 83-82.</div> http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/soni...339_kell13.html Are you sure it wasn't that? All he's saying is this team can't afford to be respecting the Spurs, they need to look at them like any other opponent.
It looks like the Seattle reporters sugarcoated Jerome's quote last night. That surely isn't what he said, I heard and seen him say it clear as day. "Jerome judging by this win, does it give you any respect for the Spurs?" "No, no repect at all"
"Jerome judging by this win, does it give you any respect for the Spurs?" "No, no repect at all"[/QUOTE] JJ has, over the years, said some really stupid things. If you want a stupid quote like this, just keep asking him questions. I doubt if he really thought about what he was saying. He was just pumped up.
JJ has a valid point, how can you respect a team with a guy like Manu who flops when two feet away from anyone?
I'm pretty sure he means you have to play like you feel you're just as good, if not better, than the Spurs in order to win. Plus I'd caution against taking pro athletes word for word. Not the most literate guys around. Remember when he said 'sometimes you just have to make love to your teammates?'
Whatever it takes right now to get the troops going, I'll take it. I'm sure that the Spurs have to be getting upset about James comments. This team prides itself on discipline and if James can get them to play out of character b/c they are fueled by anger, then that should work to our advantage. Trash talking is a part of the game. He isn't attacking anyone character. All he is saying is that for the Sonics to win they have to believe that they are the better team. Big Game talked it and walked it yesterday. We needed a good effort and he provided one. Now he has to continue to back his words up throughout the series. A boxing match wouldn't be as entertaining is there weren't theatrics in the media. Jerome is a silly dude (especially when he is making his religious references after the game--I'm glad that no one was hurt, huh. I saw both Sweet Lew and Reggie nursing injuries) but when he is playing well he brings a swagger to our frontline that is necessary for us to win games. Haven't really seen that since Kemp and them boys.

That part was disgusting.
I think JJ was just upset with the stupid question. I mean, the guy has a great game, his team fights hard to win, and the only BS question they think to ask him is about the other team. Judging by the way he answered it, and the fact that he immediatly walked away after it, that's what I think was going through his head.

He flopped plain and simple...and if you don't believe that then you are just in denial.

You my friend are wrong if you dont think so..sorry sport.
