I heard this one on RealGM.com and somewhere here on JBB. I don't know to much about Blatche, but I know Warrick. This makes me think that we are in position to trade Dunleavy or Pietrus. So I think we could get a pick for Dunleavy or Pietrus. maybe a late first rounder. I think we could convert it into Channing Frye or Salim Stoudamire So I think we could see this if we draft Warrick

PG: Baron Davis/ Derek Fisher/ Salim Stouamire (if obtained)
SG: Jason Richardson/ MLE/ Salim Stouamire (if obtained)
SF; Mickael Pietrus/ Hakkim Warrick/ Zarko Cabarkapa/ Nikoloz Tskitshvili
PF: Troy Murphy/ Zarko Cabarkap/ Channing Frye (if obtained)/ Nikoloz Tskitshvili
    C: Adonal Foyle/ Andris Biedrins/ Minimum FA

PG: Baron Davis/ Derek Fisher/ Salim Stouamire (if obtained)
SG: Jason Richardson/ MLE/ Salim Stouamire (if obtained)
SF; Mike Dunleavy/ Hakkim Warrick/ Zarko Cabarkapa/ Nikoloz Tskitshvili
PF: Troy Murphy/ Zarko Cabarkap/ Channing Frye (if obtained)/ Nikoloz Tskitshvili
    C: Adonal Foyle/ Andris Biedrins/ Minimum FA

I don't know too much about Blatche so tell me something about him

According to Insider, Warrick's stock is on the rise, and he could go as high as #5!

Apparently, Warrick might actually be an inch taller, at 6'9, than the tweener height of 6'8. He would certainly fit the Warriors need for a more athletic frontcourt player. Warrick has some weaknesses, but I think all of them are fixable.

Shooting range - This should improve as he develops more. He has solid mechanics already, it's just a matter of hitting from outside more consistently.

Shot blocking - Despite his leaping ability, scouts don't view Warrick as a shot blocker. I don't agree with their assessment at all. I don't think he needs to be a shot blocker in the mold of a K-Mart, if he can force opponents to alter shots and make it tough for them to get a clean look, that should be good enough. A player he reminds me of is Josh Howard of Dallas.

Size & Strength - Again, Warrick can add a good 15 to 20 lbs of muscle to be a better player in the NBA. If he measures in at 6'9, his stock is going to skyrocket.

The Warriors could definitely benefit from his energy off the bench.

At almost seven feet tall, Blatche has all the physical tools to make it big in the NBA one day, it just won?t be anytime soon... Will be a project for whichever team decides to select him. </font></font>

I think if we draft this Andray Blatche guy, he'll be more unused than Robert Swift (the guy the Sonics drafted last year).

    [IMG] Blaaaaatche!

He's got potential... but to be what? Rasheed Wallace? Kevin Garnett? I dunno about this guy, but his size and skillset seems intriguing.

Lol. I like what they say about Blatche, I saw some scouting reports, but his not going to play a lot. If we get a big man, let it be Petro or Diogu

I agree 100%. Petro and Diogu are the only two bigs i am interested in. (unless Bogut somehow falls to 9) If not them then Granger or Felton, maybe a few others.

I've got a feeling that Bogut will be a bust to some people. They'll expect him to be Tim Duncan type of dominance, but he might end up being a 15/8 kind of guy on a lotto team without a decent point guard.

I dont think he will but i know someone would have said something about me leaving out Bogut. Bogut isn't as good as he's made out to be. I wouldn't trade up for him unless someone took Foyle for it, in other words, I wouldn't trade up for him for anything.

Andrew Bogut over Chris Paul is like Alex Smith over Braylan Edwards (in the NFL in football). I think both players will be good, both could be all-pro and the other NBA allstars, but I think the second of each of the two pairings is going to make more impact on their teams as far as leading their franchise. The only reason why Bogut would go #1 overall is because of the shortage of big men in the NBA/future drafts. However, I see Paul as the kind of guy that can do almost everything well now and continue to grow as well as Bogut can. Even though he is small, explosive, he is lightning quick, good on the ball defense, trolls the passing lanes, can carry a team by himself and he's clutch. Remember those games where Speedy Claxton just got to anywhere on the floor and the other team couldn't do anything about it no matter who they put on him? I see that as Chris Paul, only almost every night, and he's got the ability to hit jump shots from anywhere with high %'s. Plus he also has leadership, court vision, and can control the tempo in a game, something that is hard for big men to do unless they're the tenacious type. For Bogut to have the same impact he's got to show a wider arsenal of moves than he did at Utah against smaller opponents and he's got to be able to call for the ball and draw fouls inside against others his size in addition to the rebounding, outlet passes and defense he's supposed to provide.

I'd prefer Warrick over Blatche by far; Hakim is much more polished. Considering if the Warriors are looking to keep Troy Murphy, Warrick could develop his mid-range game more to play small forward.

Warrick is exciting to watch, but if he doesn't develop the finer points of the game like shooting and defense, it's kind of a waste of a pick because he'll be too small to play power forward and too unskilled to play small forward. But he does look pretty awesome driving and taking it to the rim. He's got olympic type athleticism. I just feel if we draft the guy, we'll end up with Gerald Wallace, essentially, and be hoping he'll get better every year like how Richardson has (went from high school pf to guard). I think we need guys who can shoot and defend to begin with, if we're looking for a wing. For power forward and center prospects, we need guys who can post up, rebound and play interior defense. I think Blatche could be a huge bust if someone takes him that high because he hasn't really proved squat. He could be a lite version of Jonathan Bender, but if his shooting isn't lights out, I doubt he'd even be a future starter.

BTW, I think Petro's ability sounds intriguing. Petro's got some post game (although like one or two moves) and he's got the lateral movement to guard 3 positions like Rasheed Wallace on defense (helpful against guarding the Nowitzki's and Garnetts).

Ike Diogu sounds pretty much like what we've been looking for in a big man since he has a variety of up and under, spin moves, post up step back jumper, but it's a mystery whether these skills equate to being a successful starting power forward due to his size. You wouldn't want to waste your #9 lottery on an undersized PF backup like Eduardo Najera/Brian Cardinal type player even though they are nice to have on your team.

Petro is very limited offensively (all he does is dunk and a baby-hook) but is known for his defense. As you mentioned he is usually assigned the toughest forward or center to guard because of his quickness and strength. Based on his movement in mock drafts recently, I think his stock is rising. He had to guard Biedrins last year in the under 18 Euro championship and, from what I've read, he didn't get many blocks but focused more on not allowing his opponent to score. He isn't lacking muscle especially compared to other Euro prospects and he seems to be fine with banging in the post. He reminds me of Pietrus in the fact that he is a great defender but needs work on his offensive game and Petro plays on the same team as Pietrus did but Petro's body looks very similar to the way Dalembert's does now, 7', very long, and has some muscle.

Actually during that last game versus Biedrins, I think Biedrins dominated Petro. Petro is supposed to have a post up drop step move and can back an opponent down to get position for a flip shop, but if you don't have very many moves in the post, then you won't be an effective post player in the NBA. Then again this guy is a mystery. He doesn't even start I don't think.

I read that too, but it is misleading. From what I remember Petro was double and triple teamed while Biedrens never saw a double team...

Petro did get dominated but Biedrins dominated everyone in that tourney. I've also heard the thing about Petro getting double teamed but Biedrins didn't. I dont think many Euro prospects start for their teams. Did Pietrus start? I dont know but ever since Pau Orthez (I believe thats the right name) lost Pietrus they've been keeping their young guys out of the media and American scout's eyes.

Also, I've heard that if he decides to withdraw and enter in next year's draft then he would be a top 7 pick. But this is speculation.

In the Jordan Classic Blatche came up big,24 pt and 14-15 boards vs HS All Stars, that is about what his averages were in HS play. Basically he's about the same age as Petro, not quite as big but his skills are more polished.

I keep hearing how Euro teams "hide" prospects, but we were talking about all those guys all year. What is the point? Those players are worth little if stuck on the bench-if they have the talent...which is quite unproven. And when they DO produce-the NBA is waiting. We are talking about 5-6 imports, none scoring 10 a game, yet projected as round 1. Euro-teams ought to play the guys who can play, while they have them. I suspect they DO play players able to produce. I think there is a lot of hype that feeds on itself. Martynas Andri-who? Was touted by the well known and above quoted site as THE #1 pick. He is averaging UNDER 2pt,Under 2 rbd, shoots a 31% FT. Thanslated from Lithuanian...He's got NOTHIN'
Check out Dwayne Jones numbers-and Petro's and tell me Petro is anywhere close.
Most likely C Frye will be a much better player than Petro 5yr from now,and next year,Frye will be playing often, and well, while Petro will have no more impact than Shika.

The Blatche review is pretty old,was posted at the beginning of the season. I don't know enough about him,but as a middle # 1, I'd take him over Petro,or Martynas, but maybe not over Frye. The W's should take a real good look.
Warrick can play SF,he's real quick and crafty. While not a guy who launces many 3's-he has a J,and his drives draw fouls. He is physically kind of a taller J Rich, minimal fat,yet strong, with spring and explosion. His quickness could suffer if he attempts to bulk up much, though he figures to add 10 pounds or so. Will be good.

If Petro withdrew AND put up some legit first-string type numbers,he could go high next year

If we draft Warrick, Dunleavy is gone. Warrick can't create his own shot but with B-Diddy creating for everybody I see him getting in double figures. The most beneficial aspect of Warrick's game would be the rebounding and defense he brings. We need some of that. He's also a good finisher around the basket.

I'd prefer a legit big man. Insurance for Murphy if he doesn't pan out.

I read an article where scouts are unimpressed with Warrick's workouts...they say he has a poor conditioning and that all he can do is run the floor and dunk...meaning that he's as raw as they get...in fact, I could've read that article on JBB somewhere, I'm not sure lol...but I never read where warrick's stock was on the rise, in fact, I've heard the exact opposite...
