If all he wanted was to be a first-round pick and he had a team's commitment why wouldnt he hire an agent?
I think his size will be very attractive to many teams, and definitely wouldn't be surprised to see him go in the late first to a team like Denver at 20, or Phoenix at 21.
I liked what I saw of him,though lottery is a stretch. He plays with good energy,though is not real quick,has the basics.
I watched him, he ran the floor and the guards gave him then ball and he dunked it. The announcers were talking about him the whole game. He had a lot of rebounds too.

I imagine these underclassmen want to keep their options open and shop around for the best deal available.
Bynum will be a first round pick. . . but will he be a success? Or will he end up like fellow out-of-HS big men James Lang and Kendrick Perkins? I say he wait a year, go to College, develop his game and come back in 2006 as a lotto pick.
He would be a late lottery pick(9-13) if he played in college a year, but he won't go higher than 18th if he leaves now. He could learn some muich needed knowledge from Josh Boone UConn's now starting center, and they could switch boone to PF. I swear these guys are driving me crazy!
Taft and the various Euro-teens were listed from the start of the season as lottery,by several mocks,based on the assumption they would make good progress....which none really did. Blatche and Bynum have a real good chance to fill the void as others drop. Lang and Perkins are each around 6-9 1/2,by many accounts,6-10 tops. Bynum is a legit 7-0 with good effort,good tools. Any team that had focused on a big not named Bogut is going to check out these HS bigs,who have at least equal chances.
