<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">McDonald's All-American Amir Johnson, a Louisville signee, has entered his name into the NBA draft, coach Rick Pitino said Saturday. Johnson will not retain an agent and could pull out of the draft -- but not necessarily because of on-the-court performance. Johnson is not yet academically eligible to play college basketball as a freshman, but if his academic status improves he could take his name out of the draft and join the Cardinals for 2005-06. "This is sort of an out if he can't get his grades," Pitino said. "He needs to get his SAT score up. If he gets his score up, he'll come to Louisville.</div> Link
At least Johnson has a legit excuse to go pro, that he may not even reach the grade requirements to attend Louisville. At this point I would say second round but it's tough to predict anything beyond that because of the ammount of players declaring. A couple years under Pitino, and this kid may be cracking the first round one day. If you watched the college slam dunk contest, this was the kid that dunked two balls in one dunk, pretty neat.
That would be great if he goes to Louisville, I watched him during the Slam Dunk Contest, I remember he did that one dunk with 2 basketballs.
Ah, I was looking forward to see him playing under Pitino and Louisville, but whatever. Maybe he can go late 1st, but I doubt it.

DAMNIT... I mean, last year was tough enough, losing both Telfair and Donta Smith to the draft. This year, we lose our top recruit, again? AH this sucks. He better study and get a good SAT score and come to Louisville. If he comes, our front court will be dominant, one of the best in the country with him, huge transfer Padgett coming in, Palacios already there, Brian Johnson who missed all last season with an injury, and Holloway who's coming in as well.
all those kids fear the that the 20+ rule might become real next year. that's why they're taking advantage right now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KingSac:</div><div class="quote_post">all those kids fear the that the 20+ rule might become real next year. that's why they're taking advantage right now.</div> And that is a damn shame. All of this over the fear that they may have to wait a whole year maybe 2 in order to declare. Be serious. So, instead of developing yourself, and really being prepared, jump now, ride pine, maybe get some money, no guarantee. I'd rather wait until I'm ready. I dont wanna go just to go. Just to say, hey, I got a couple million and I made it. I wanna go and play, I wanna go and star, I want the shoes, the jersey sales, my face next to the greats. Most of the kids. the idiots who are scared they cant hack it in college for a couple years, are going to turn out to be the biggests jokes so far. And then what are you going to say to me, when I play you on the playground. "Yeah, well I made it" No, someone idiot misjudged your lack of talent just cuz you are 6-6/7-0 and what, you sat on your butt for 3 years then were basically fired cuz you suck at your job. Hope you are proud, and how much money do you have left, oh, nothing, cuz you bought 3 cars, a house big enough for a small country to live in and enough ice to keep the polar caps still frozen. Excuse me if I hurt myself clapping for you and the fine embarassing fool you've become!
It is a shame that all these guys think this is their year, when alot of them won't even go top 20. There are very few players out of high school that I believe are ready fore this draft. Actually I think there should be no high schoolers in this years draft due to the lack in talent and maturity. This shoulda been one of the best years for freshman ball.
