I 'think' that a team rebound is like when the opposing team misses a shot and while u try to rebound the ball gets tapped out of bounds by the other team and that gives your team a "team rebound" ? I dunno, just a guess..
woAH hey my MELBOURNE friend NICE. yeah ur ideas sound good but if ANYONE KNOWs for sure thatd be even way cooler
I also wonder what that is. My guess is that is is a rebound that goes out of bounds before anyone touches it.
i think that they give you team rebounds so that a team's field goal attempts/free throw attempts match the number of rebounds. if the ball goes out of bounds or a there is a missed free-throw shot, obviously no one can get a rebound, so instead, a team rebound is awarded.

If you check a box score, the number of actual rebounds will correspond with the number of field goals missed and second free throws missed (this may be approximate if an attempt went out of bounds.) The first of two free throws, if missed, corresponds to a team rebound for the nonshooting team.
Team rebounds are when the ball goes out of bounds. It's how out of bounds balls are logged on the stat sheet. If it goes out of bounds on X team, Y team is rewarded with a team rebound. A rebound on a missed second free throw is awarded to the player who rebounds it.
^^^^ bingo...a team rebound is any rebound that a player does not snare, which means a ball that bounces out of bounds on a missed shot or even airball...
