<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Stan Van Gundy remains befuddled, as does every Heat fan who thought Shaquille O'Neal's right thigh injury should have healed in the past month. ''It did seem to get worse, and I don't understand that,'' Van Gundy said after his team swept the Washington Wizards 4-0 in the Eastern Conference semifinals Saturday. ``Hopefully, the rest of the treatment will get him better.'' But based on medical literature on the subject of deep thigh bruises, the injury can worsen if not given the proper amount of time to heal. The recommended recovery period is a couple weeks to two months, but if not given the proper time to heal, it can worsen.</div> Source At least the Heat will get at least 8 days to rest everyone before they face the Pistons or Pacers. I never knew a deep bruise can last up to 2 months to recover.
somebody needs to be fired for not giving Shaq the proper time to heal and rushing him out prematurely onto the court.
I would have sat him down after Game 2 against the Nets. And I would have played him only if the Heat were down in either series. Man, he has 'Sheed, Big Ben and Dysse licking their chops.
I really hope he can get back onto the court by at least Game 2 against the Pistons/Pacers. Even if we fall one game behind because of his absence, I think we can come back and win the series if he can play. Hopefully he doesn't have to miss any ga,es but this injury doesn't sound good.
