Alright, for my next article I'm doing a chronicle on the sports fan and how our beloved teams mean so much to us...for example, how they affect our daily lives and how our life as a whole has been affected by our sports team...i need diehard fans...so for those diehard fans, I would appreciate it if you would give some quotes or stories as to how your beloved basketball team affects you...tell your stories as a fan and such...what I plan to do is chronicle it and make an article that represents the heart of the diehard sports fan, and what sports means to them...

you may either post your comments here or PM them to me if you wish for them to not be public...this article may take some time to finish so I would appreciate the comments a.s.a.p...thanks...

I pissed my pants when the 76ers won the first game of the 2001 NBA Finals. A lot. [IMG]

One example....When the Sixers win a game, my life is so much better because most of what I do online is search for bball stuff and I'm in the mood to do it because they won. When they lose, I'm pretty much bored till the next game they pllay because I have nothing to do online cuz I'm not in the mood to read bball articles.

With me whoever play the 76ers I just discover a newfound hate for them. I like Amare and Carmelo a lot but when they play the Sixers I really dislike them because I am such a Philly fanatic. But if the Nuggets and Carmelo are playing the Knicks or something I actually am a fan, it's weird.

    Really? [IMG]

Well the thing with me is when I know that there is a scheduled 76ers game later in day, I'm often very cool, relaxed and happy throughout the day. And once game time is approaching I'm literally walking around the house clapping and throwing my arms in the air and what not. And when they win, I'm a very happy person, want to borrow $20 dollars? Sure, why not? However, if they lose, be warned, do NOT come near me nor talk to me.

But what really irks me the most is when they lose games they should have won, an example was that Knicks game. They were up 19 in the 4th quarter and lost the game in OT, I was mad about the game for about a week, even after they won their previous games I couldn't get that game out of my mind. But games that they won, such as Iverson-less games I am very happy. This often wears on me for about 3-4 days or so.

Well, no.. not really. However, I do have a real fan experience.

As the season neared its end, I, like every other 76er fan, was praying for the 6th seed. It all came down to one game. The Chicago Bulls were playing the Indiana Pacers. After the Bulls barely lost the game due to Scott Skiles not playing his starters, I FLIPPED A ****. Nobody could talk to me for three days. Not my friends. Not my parents. Not my teachers. I swear. I knew we could have beaten the Celtics, but had no chance against the Pistons. That's what tore me up. I honestly wanted to fly to Chicago and murder Skiles.

    I'm generally a happy person.

I wasn't. I for one was rooting for the Pacers to win. I wanted the Pistons in the first round.

I'm sorry. I forgot to factor in the people who wanted us to be eliminated right away. However, considering that we had no chance of draft pick at the point, I wasn't aware that those 76er fans existed.

The way I see things is that we would have defeated the Celtics and we would have to play the Pistons eventually. So playing the Pistons in second round with tired legs could have most likely been a sweep. We were better off playing the Pistons with fresh legs opposed to having weary legs. Let's face it, we aren't that much better than the Celtics and we would have hard time with them and the series could have ended up going to a decisive Game 7 and then to having to face the Pistons would be hell. That would even limit our chances at defeating them as if it wasn't already limited. So it would be best we try to get through them first because no matter what we would have to face them eventually.

Now I would be lying if I said I didn?t want the 76ers to move onto the second round primarily because I would get to see them play some more and it would look better to actually move on. But at the end of the day, it wouldn?t do us any justice because one of our guys could have gone down with an injury or something and we wouldn't have any better of a chance playing them opposed if we played them in the first round with fresh legs. So it?s best that we had the opportunity to get them first and if we were to eliminate them from there it would be clear sailing all the way to the conference finals. We wouldn't have to worry about trying to shift gears to a whole new level and try to defeat them in the 2nd round.

I would have liked to see us play the Pistons after we'd developed some confidence in the first round.
