After a rocky junior year, it looked like Lute Olson was seriously considering booting Stoudamire off the team. His surly attitude had alienated teammates and played a part in Andre Iguodala leaving Arizona for the NBA. Was suspended by the team in February for one game for not meeting team responsibilities.

Comes as news to me about Stoudamire and these attitude problems. I never knew that it played part in Iguodala leaving. Also Lute Olson seriously considered kicking him off the team? His stock will be going down after this report, still second round though just middle or late second.

everyone knows stoudamire had attitude problems...he'll be an early second-round pick in the draft because his shooting is a valuable commodity but thats all he does...he's an above-average passer but is too undersized to play the 2 (his true position) and is a subpar defender...

You didn't know that he had attitude problems? Olsen wanted him kicked off the team last year. Let's just say his height is not the only thing holding him back from being a first rounder. Supposidely he has really matured though. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt in this situation. I'd still draft him based on his talent. It's too much to pass up on for some unproven international kid.

I knew that he had attitude problems but I did not think that they were this bad. I mean almost getting kicked off the team? I think that is a bit major for a guy that was a great player in college and Arizona's top scorer.

Yeah the Salim attitude issue were WELL documented last year. I had heard rumors of it playin a part in Iggy leaving Arizona, but, he never was quoated as saying such. And if you are a Top 10 pick in the draft, he wasnt staying anyway. But his ability to score, the run he put together at the end of the year and the scoring tear he went on the last month of the season will carry more weight than not. The takes I've gotten on this kid are his ability to be a huge sparkplug off the bench. A guy who's shooting and scoring can put up numbers in short minutes. He'll have to earn his minutes on defense, but he'll be a valuable pick in round 2. He's also the kind of player, I've been told, that if just one GM falls in love with him, he could easily be had in the first round aswell. BTW, just as a little token fellas, I have 2 trips coming up in the next couple weeks. One down to FL to NJ/NY to watch some tryouts and the other to Chicago for the pre-draft camp. I will of course put together some valuable information that I can hopefully squeak out of some people. A little tid bit on some hot rumors and some of the lesser known guys who's names you might hear and when on draft day.

^^ That sounds nice, it would be cool to hear what exactly you can find out. Please post it all haha.

As for Stoudamire, the attitude problem was more prevalent last year than this. I hadn't heard as much about it this year, so i'd take that into account with an idea that he's matured.

Yeah, I remember watching something on ESPN on where Olsen was going to send him packing because of his attitude problems, and that must have really changed Salim because you can tell he changed a whole bunch and cleaned up his act. But I do think he will still get drafted, because of his potential to be a great shooter at the next level.

Being the best perimeter shooter in the draft carries weight. Arenas and Terry were shooting G's at AU-became NBA point G's. Salim is also damn quick,a quality "undesize"Iverson has used effectively.
