Great, A.I made the First Team. I was starting to get a feeling that he would get snubbed out of the First Team particularly because of the way Dwayne Wade has been performing in the Playoffs. But all these teams looks good to me, but the only change I would make is a swap with Dirk and LeBron. I'm not taking anything from Dirk because it's not like it's a crime that he was chosen over James for the First Team, but I believe James had much more of an overall impact on his team and the league for that matter.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Forward- Tim Duncan, San Antonio Forward- Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Center- Shaquille O?Neal, Miami Guard- Allen Iverson, Philadelphia Guard- Steve Nash, Phoenix </div> I'm a genius. Those were the exact players I predicted for the All-NBA 1st team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">but the only change I would make is a swap with Dirk and LeBron. </div> Thats what i thought right when i saw the list.Him or Duncan could get swapped for Lebron in my mind.Duncan had a 20 and 11 year but i really feel like Lebron broke through this year, alot like Wade.
Phew this is a relief. I was hoping the league didn`t make any bad choices on picking the teams. I like these lists. I`m really happy to see Allen Iverson make the First Team instead of the likes of LBJ or Wade. 2nd and 3rd list`s were well chosen also.
Kobe didn't even deserve 3rd team honors in my eyes, I will admit that. As for LeBron on the second team, I really think Arenas deserved it more than him. LeBron and the Cavs fell off at the end of the season, big time, while Arenas and the Wizards bolted into the 2nd round of the playoffs. Whatever though, I'm glad that Arenas made it.
How can anyone serious think a guy who didn't even make the playoffs in the east deserves to be on the all NBA first team? Dirk had 26 and 10 while leading his team in the west to 58 wins with a injured squad for most of the year. He deserved to be there and I honestly wouldn't say anyone deserved all NBA ahead of those guys. Well maybe Ray Allen over Allen Iverson but thats about It.
^Lebron is placed as a forward,Arenas is a guard.I changed my statement from swapping dirk for Lebron to swapping Duncan.Lebron had a crazy year,Duncans season was a bit subpar for him.
I don't mean to brag, but 44 and I predicted the entire 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams correctly, except we had McGrady over Allen on the 2nd and Ming over Wallace on the 3rd. As for the selections, I think that Paul Pierce was snubbed. I'm a big Jason Kidd fan, probably the biggest on this site, but he was injured all year. I almost don't think he and Jermaine O'Neal should have been eligible for the voting. Also, how can Camby get 14 votes while Ilgauskas gets 11 and Brad Miller only gets 1?
^Brad Miller only gets 1 cause the league was hating on the Kings this year. This and no Kings in the Allstar game

He missed some games but he is is the main reason the Spurs got the 2nd seed. If Kobe making the 3rd team while putting the same numbers as Lebron is not right, them Lebron making the 2nd time is the same.
^Im pretty sure Lebron made things alot easier for his teamates also.I thought the biggest reason the Spurs took the 2 seed was cause of Ginoblis breakout year.Duncan was a little below average for Duncan, but Ginobli evolved this year.Kobe put up similar numbers but you cant say he made things easier on his team if you watched him play.I also think there was stiffer competition in the Guard catagory this year than the forward category.

Here is my argument for LBJ as first team. First off he should be considered a SG / SF so he should make it as either a F or G (but that isnt the main point) The important part is he is one of 5 players in NBA history to average 25/7/7 in a season. If he had one of the best seasons in NBA history for a Guard or Forward how is he not on the first team? Timmy Duncan missed 16 games. So are his 66 games better than LBJ's 80 games simply because his team did better? LBJ averaged 7 ppg more than Duncan, 3.7 rpg less and 5.5 apg more. If Duncan had played the whole season you could make the argument for him but playing only 66 games I cant see it. I guarantee that if the Cavs had made the playoffs LBJ would be on the team.

Any player who can draw a double and triple team and pass out of it makes the game easier for his teammates. A lot of the Lakers had career years last season, and most improved their FG% shooting as a result of playing with Kobe. Also Kobe was ranked 2nd in efficiency per 48 minutes, the only player ahead of him was T-Mac.
I watched Kobe play and disrupt the offense by regularly standing in one spot and holding the ball for 5 seconds at a time. The players that had career year were pretty much just players that had the biggest roles theyve ever had.Atkins and Mihm started. While players like Caron didnt have career year and Odom actually had a bad year. Also like i said earlier, tougher competition in the guard category than the forward category.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GiantMidget:</div><div class="quote_post">Correction,he averaged 27/7/7 </div> But the category he fits into is the 25/7/7 .... BTW the other 4 players were Larry Bird, MJ, Havlichek and Oscar Robertson (6 times)......
Ok I guess I have to post the stats again just to prove a point. First number is this year's FG%, second number is last years. Lamar Odom - 47.3FG% v. 43FG% *CAREER BEST Caron Butler - 44.5FG% v. 38FG% * CAREER BEST Chris Mihm - 50.7FG% v. 48.8FG% (BOS) & 50.0FG% (CLE) * CAREER BEST Chucky Atkins - 42.6FG% v. 41.FG% (BOS) & 37.4FG% (DET) After those 5 seconds when Kobe stopped standing around and created the offense what did you see?
^So you think Caron and Odom had GOOD/career years?Caron was so so,but Odom?I think If you swapped kobe with another player Odom and Caron have better years.
The more I look at these stats, I recant my statement about Jason Kidd. He actually played 66 whole games (same as Kobe and Duncan). In those games, he averaged 14.4 ppg, 7.4 rpg (#1 on team), 8.3 apg, and about 2 spg, which is amazing considering that he took about a month to really get back into the flow of things. I feel like he would have been just as deserving, if not more, to make the team over Kobe Bryant. You have to consider that when Kidd was completely healthy, his team had one of the best winning %'s in the NBA.
