About that Kobe effieciency ranking he was 9th in effecieny ranking and 4th in efficiency per 48 minutes(Garnett was #1 in all that). Not saying he isnt great or isnt deserving of anything.
I pointed out they all had career bests in FG% playing with Kobe, because Kobe demands a double team and kicks it out to these players for wide open looks. I never said any had career years, but they had career bests in FG%. There are better reasons than Kobe, for Odom or Butler not having a career year. First off, Odom played out of position all year, and second the team went through a complete shift in offensive strategy after Rudy T left. I just think people who berate Kobe are just regurgitating the media. The same media who gets on him for shooting a low percentage and has high turnovers, yet still has Iverson as a 1st Teamer. Iverson in fact shoots a lower percentage and has a higher turnover average than Kobe. The same media who blames Kobe for not making his teammates better, but then turnaround and defend LeBron for not having teammates support him. However, Kobe did in fact make his teammates better and ranking 2nd in efficiency doesn't get handed to you. All that being said, I think Kobe is lucky to even be considered on the 3rd team because the Lakers failed in the most important number category, WINS. I would have voted Jason Kidd ahead of him. They both played 66 games, but Kidd made the playoffs and Kobe didn't. Also Kidd made the playoffs without Richard Jefferson being there.
Nope, read my last post about efficiency ranking, thats from nba.com.I also think Mcgrady should have been ahead of Ray Allen.I think thats another case of his team being one of the flavors of the year. You can make decent arguements for both players, but Mcgradys a little better in my opinion.
Actually we are both wrong, he's #9 in effiency rankings. Source Still being in the top 10 is elite for the league.
The First Team is perfect IMO, I like the second team, though I would've put Tmac over Lebron James, or maybe Ray Allen, but Ray did good. I'm very happy Arenas made the third team. I'm not too sure about the Kobe selection, he had fairly good numbers, but bad team success, and they ended the season 2-19, I would've given Vince that spot.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Well maybe Ray Allen over Allen Iverson but thats about It.</div> Care to explain? Iverson took a team that had no buisness in the Playoffs into the Playoffs. There is not many players in this league that could have lead this 76ers team into the Playoffs while having Marc Jackson being the 2nd leading scorer and remeber, he comes off the bench. And when you add the fact that last year squad starting C and PF had countless DNP's and get this the players which replaced them were the likes of Josh Davis. Josh who? Exactly. Statistically, Iverson also had one of thee best seasons if not thee best season. He became the only player in NBA history to rank Top 5 in PPG, APG, MPG and SPG. And lastly, it's only fitting that he got the nod over Ray Allen, he did finish fifth in MVP voting. In matter of fact the Top 5 MVP candidates made the first team.
I know, the guy is an MVP candidate and doesn't even make an All-NBA Team, I don't understand that...
The NBA is something these days, isn't it? I wonder why these clowns are in charge of the voting anyway.
Mine would have gone: 1st team: G Steve Nash G Allen Iverson F Kevin Garnett F Dirk Nowitzki C Amare Stoudemire 2nd team: G Kobe Bryant G Dwayne Wade F Lebron James F Tim Duncan C Shaquille O'Neal 3rd Team: G Gilbert Arenas G Larry Hughes F Shawn Marion F Tracy McGrady C Brad Miller
In my mind, LeBron deserved to be on the first team. But you wont hear an argument from me. Its perfectly understandable since he didnt make the playoffs. Its hard to take it away from guys like Dirk and TD and the success their teams had.

Hughes only played 61 games in the season, so guys like Vince, Kidd, Ray Allen, definately get it over him. Amare over Shaq? Defense anyone? Brad Miller missed a lot of games too, and didn't out perform Ben Wallace, he scored more, but Ben is vastly [and I mean vastly] superior defensively, and a better rebounder. He's also a bigger impact player than Miller, and played more games. I can give you the Garnett one because Duncan missed games, but I would've given it to Duncan anyways because he just impacts that team so much, and they were still a top seed. I would've had: <u>1st Team</u> G - Steve Nash G - Allen Iverson F - Dirk Nowitzki F - Tim Duncan C - Shaquille O'neal <u>2nd Team</u> G - Dwyane Wade G - Ray Allen F - Lebron James F - Kevin Garnett C - Amare Stoudemire <u>3rd Team</u> G - Gilbert Arenas G - Vince Carter F - Tracy McGrady F - Shawn Marion C - Ben Wallace I think McGrady deserved second team, but so did Lebron, so I'll leave that...

I think Vince had more of an impact on the Nets' turnaround than Kidd personally, but given his attitude and numbers in Toronto, I'm glad he didn't make any of the teams, despite his gaudy overall stats. Glad to see Ray Allen getting props. The leader of a team that went from 37 wins to 52 and a divisional crown, with it's only additions beong Fortson and Collison. He had a career season, and deserves to be on the second team. I think voters got it pretty much spot on, given T-Mac played small forward for most of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe didn't even deserve 3rd team honors in my eyes, I will admit that. As for LeBron on the second team, I really think Arenas deserved it more than him. LeBron and the Cavs fell off at the end of the season, big time, while Arenas and the Wizards bolted into the 2nd round of the playoffs. Whatever though, I'm glad that Arenas made it.</div> Why do you say that? Kobe still had pretty good honors. Do you say that becasue the Lakers didn't make the playoffs. Well Kg, and Lebron didn'tmake the playoffs either. I'm confused with your point man.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting olskoolFunktitude:</div><div class="quote_post">pierce should be 3rd team guard not kobe</div> Haha. No way. Kobe had better stats. You are a hater. But if you say that because he didn't make the playoffs, Lebron and Kg didn't make the playoffs either.
^Lebron and KG had better stats though.I can agree with Kobe being on one of those teams as long as it isnt first team.
