Congrats to him. Definitely our leader this year and despite the fact I complain about him quite a bit, I think he deserves it.

Should bode well for contract talks [IMG]

An accurate reflection of an outstanding season.

Congratulations Ray, now show why you are a second-teamer in Game Six.

    Well deserved.

Who knows how many first team votes he would have received if he'd make a consistent effort defensively?

Yeah I've seen him actually getting in the chair on D here in the playoffs - didn't see that much in the regular season.

I guess a guy only has so much energy, though.

    Couple thoughts on the selections

    - I didn't realize Duncan was 1st team All-NBA every season he's been in the league (8)

    - I think D. Wade should've been 1st team over Iverson, but it's close. I think Wade plays a more efficient game. AI is a tough sucker so can't really complain, but man does he control the ball a lot.

    - Maybe the current Dallas-Phoenix series is too fresh in my head but I'd put Amare on the 1st team over Dirk. Nowitski's been great all season, no doubt, though. And Amare has Nash, so maybe that has something to do with it.

    - Weird to see Kobe on the 3rd team. Lots of adjustments he had to make this season without Shaquille but it was supposedly his chance to step up and raise his game without being 'Shaqled'.

I like that fact the Lewis got more votes than Ginobli, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Jermaine O?Neal, Tony Parker, Mike Bibby, Elton Brand, Grant Hill, Carmelo Anthony, Antawn Jamison, Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Chauncey Billups, Chris Bosh, Stephon Marbury, Reggie Miller, Michael Redd, Larry Hughes, Corey Maggette, Kenyon Martin, Brad Miller, Peja Stojakovic.

That is pretty good company. The Sonics earned some attention and respect from the media this year.

If McGrady had been listed as a shooting guard, Allen would have been a third-teamer. However, McGrady was listed as a small forward for most of the season, which definitely worked to his favor. Either, congrats to Allen's outstanding season; being named to an All-NBA team is definitely something he deserves after leading the team to unexpected success.

Ray had a great season, he is an all NBA player every year. He just finally got given the credit due to team success. Be interesting what contract he gets this summer.
