<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Prosecutors said Wednesday that one-time University of Iowa basketball player Pierre Pierce made 239 more calls than previously known to the former girlfriend he is accused of assaulting, and that he should not be allowed to leave the state to prepare for next month's NBA draft. The state's motion alleges that new evidence indicates Pierce tried to call his former girlfriend 158 times on a cell phone taken March 29 from an Iowa City bar and another 81 times on a phone taken April 7 from another Iowa City tavern. In April, Pierce acknowledged he violated a no-contact order with 84 calls to the alleged victim's cell phone during a 17-hour period on March 25. Those calls were also made on a stolen or lost cell phone, prosecutors say. Alfredo Parrish, Pierce's lawyer, said his client had complied with a second no-contact order and should be allowed to travel and live out of state while awaiting trial. The National Basketball Association draft is June 28. In addition, Pierce wants the opportunity to participate in NBA pre-draft camps. "Permission to travel takes Mr. Pierce further away from the alleged victim. It allows him to focus on basketball," the defense motion says. "It allows him the opportunity to have a career that comes once in a lifetime." Signed with agent Pierce, 21, has signed a contract with a Los Angeles-based agent - ending, by National Collegiate Athletic Association rules, his college career.</div> Source
Pierre just continues to make his life tougher. First what happened after his freshman year, than the abuse charges and getting kicked off the team, now this. He's got some huge maturity problems and many other issues that he's got to deal with. Hopefully, coming from an Iowa fan, he clears all this crap up in his life so he can just simply continue his basketball career for whoever that may be. He's got a lot of talent, but he could be throwing it all away with this legal propaganda if he's not careful.
Man with all the talent this kid has I actually feel bad for him. I hope he clears this up and gets on with his life like Moo said and hopefully he does it in basketball somehow.
I kinda wanted to say something intelligent here, but when Pierce is concerned, why bother? He's a loser. p.s moo2k4-i'm not meaning to hate on Iowa ball, just Pierce. You guys are gonna be real tough next year )
