2 Years difference...It's a not a huge gap, especially considering that he has much more talent than Hoffa. He was also much more developed at the Center posistion at the age of 24/25 than Hoffa. I don't know where this is going...but the point I'm trying/tried to make is that I wouldn't trade a 1st round pick plus fillers for Magloire. I would trade Hoffa and fillers for Magloire if that option was their this off-season because it would help us become more of an immediate threat for the 6-8 playoff posistions. Both of our 1st round picks are more valuable than Hoffa.
Yes, same point here, I wouldn't trade the lottery pick and fillers for Magloire, but Magloire is tradeable since he only has 2 years remaining on his contract and is likely to bolt for free agency after that.
I say we build a strong core around Bosh and not go on any spending sprees for a year or two and sign Magloire as a FA with a strong core of players. PG:Alston SG:Mo Pete SF: PF: Bosh / Bonner/ Pape C: Magloire / Hoffa Addd on to that squad the 4 draft picks we have this year and the 3 draft picks we have next year. Of the total 7 draft picks, 4 are first rounders and 3 second rounders. I would love to have Magloire, and if we make Toronto an attractive team to come to, then he would probably want to come if we had cap space. Magloire is a hard worker and would be a great guy to have around Bosh and could bang away with the big guys.

^you still need to attract him. If established playoff bound team trys to suit MAgloire At the age of 29(he's getting old...er) and they offer a similar amount of money, compared to his home which might be in the same situation its is now(I hope not) I am pretty sure Magloire wouldn't choose Toronto. It all depends. I guess I'm trying ot say, we need some sort of atrtractiveness to our team. You can spin it so our team is attractive right now becasue we actually have a good backcourt(but Jalen's contract isn't too pleasing), and we just need something to get uis to the hump and over it. Bring Magliore to the dot!
Of course, we need to have the right pieces in the team, but we don't have to do any extra 'buttering' that other teams might have to in order to get Magloire. We need to re-sign Chris Bosh, that's first priority, and get right players through drafts / trades. Rose has how many years remaining on his contract? 2 years? So after this upcoming season Rose's expiring contract at $16 million/season will become much more attractive to teams looking to get cap relief. I love Jalen but 16 million a year is just too many reasons that won't keep him in T-dot, unless he settles for much less, in the range of maybe $4 million a season.

However if we get a decent roster around Bosh then Magloire wouldn't have much difficulty making the decision. nkwu, thanks for the supporting opinion!
