<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The All-NBA Third Team includes Phoenix Suns forward Shawn Marion, Houston Rockets forward Tracy McGrady, Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace, Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant and Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas. </div> Link To be honest, I was surprised when I read this. THIRD TEAM??? After Ray Allen? Is this a disgrace or what? McGrady beat Ray Allen in every statistical category except free throw shooting and three point shooting. Both led their teams to 51-31 records, so where's the stats and the facts to prove that Allen did more than McGrady to be worthy of the second team selection?
I think its more so cuz Allen had a career year, where as we were used to these kinds of numbers from Tracy...Plus no one predicted Seattle to even be in the playoffs, whereas a lot of media had Houston in the top 4 of the West at preseason... either way, congrats Tracy, and nice job on being the lone Rockets representative
No, its not because of that. If you scrutinize it again, T-mac DID receive more votes than ray allen. But he's put in the 3rd team due to his position all season long as a SF rather than a SG.
Like whatever said, tmac goes as a forward, so he cant compete with the gaurds. I somewhat expected this. It is hard to beat out duncan, nowitski, lebron and KG. I think he could have been picked over lebron or KG but lebrons beats him in the stats. I do think he should get picked over KG. Yao not being on any team makes me very mad. He was on the second team last season and it makes you think he got worse. Amare's addition to teh center league is mainly why. But not even on the third team? He has more in him than ben wallace. Big ben is a guy who can really only play defense. Yao is a true offensive threat and his defense isnt terrible. The all nba teams arent supposed to be really about defense but lean towards offense. It really doesnt make sense why he didnt get in.
That's an insult. Mcgrady is 1st team material. I can see why he got 3rd though, seeing as how he's played SF most of the year, but he's still a guard at heart.
McGrady situation is understandable- Yao's is not. He should be definitely ahead of Ben Wallace. Big Ben really brings only defense with blocks and rebounding while Yao has a really well rounded game. I mean, his points average is double Wallace's, their block average is pretty close, Yao plays less minutes, and Yao has better FG percentage. I guess the league evaluated this on consistency, but its pretty BS if you ask me. Anyone else agree?
Well, Ben's team won more games this season and he was named Defensive Player of the Year. It wouldn't be so nice to have the DPOY not even be named to the All-NBA Third Team. However, I do get your point. It is kind of consolating to know that Yao was only 23 points behind Wallace and was the 16th overall in points. At least not everyone has forgotten about him.
I think T Mac could've been ahead of Duncan becuase he was out for a long time. They showed no luv 4 my boi n T Mac's cuz VC. I thin it's cuz of the drama wit da Raps. After all he did 4 NJ he deserved at least a third team selection.
I was surprised he was third team as well, he deserved second team honors IMO over Ray Allen. Don't get me wrong, Ray Allen had a great year, but if you look at the stats, T-Mac dominates every catagory. I understand he moved to forward, and that is a big reason why, but it just seems that with the stats Tracy had her should be second team at least.
the all Nba first team is horrible first of all how the heck is Dirk in it???? it should be Pg:Steve Nash SG:Allen Iverson SF: Tracy mcgrady PF: Tim duncan C:shaq i think t-mac was behind Ray becuz Ray got further in the playoffs.

TDUncan shud've been second team tho.
