<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DELAND -- Keith Brumbaugh hasn't had much time to sign and send out invitations for his high school graduation Sunday. He's been busy trying to make sure his own address is added to the invitation list for the Chicago pre-draft camp June 7-10 for NBA prospects. In a news conference held at DeLand High School Friday afternoon, Brumbaugh said he expects to be invited by the league to Chicago and remains steadfastly hopeful he will be a first-round pick. There was speculation that Brumbaugh, a 6-foot-8 forward with perimeter skills, might announce a college choice. Instead, after arriving 28 minutes late for his own news conference -- prompting a sportscaster to quip he was already on NBA time -- Brumbaugh essentially said the same thing he has been telling friends since he started as a ninth-grader: He wants to jump from high school to the NBA. Brumbaugh said he was late to the event because he got stuck in traffic after attending a graduation rehearsal at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. He walked into the back door of the DeLand gym and smiled as he sauntered to the media table to address TV and print reporters. "I've decided to declare the NBA draft, as you all well know," Brumbaugh said. "If everything goes right in Chicago, I intend to keep it in there. If not, then I have three colleges in mind: South Florida, Florida and USC, and possibly Oklahoma State."</div> Source
I still do not understand why Brumbaugh just didn't go to Florida and improve his skills under Billy Donovan. Unfortunately, I don't think Brumbaugh will be a first round pick, but if he would've went to college this year, then he would've probably been a first round pick in 2006. With Matt Walsh and Anthony Roberson entering the draft, Brumbaugh would've been the go-to-guy on Florida's offense, which would have increased his draft stock for the draft and maybe made him a top 20 pick.

In fact, he'll be lucky to even go in the second round. I don't think he'd be a first round pick if he went to Florida for a year either. How would he be the go to guy with Corey Brewer and Al Horford? It'd be questionable as to whether he'd even start.
