Nets Looking to Deal M. Williams

    Memories...

It's gotta be Devin Harris' first game. I was there, and felt like I was watching the beginning of something huge. From the Jason Kidd part of the season, it has to be when the Nets dropped a train on Dallas. It was the last game I saw Kidd play, what a great way (and poetic) way to end an era.

    Watching Deke in the playoffs...

Hey, I've been a Byron basher for a long time, but if he gets past the Spurs, I'll admit I was wrong, and bump him up in my mind to "slightly better than average"

Dispelling the False Notion that Frank Doesn't Play Rookies.

I don't think the criticism is founded in the amount of playing time. I would point to the "length of the leashes" for young players. Basically, Frank does not *seem* to tolerate mistakes in young players as much as he does with the veterans, superstars, and "teacher's pets". A missed...

    Whose side are you on?

I gotta support Kidd - he brought the Nets to 2 Finals despite Byron's horrible coaching. I'm convinced that anyone who is voting for Byron Scott are probably younger fans who did not watch any Nets games between 2000 and 2003.

    What might the nets do?

The addition of Brand doesn't make the Nets better than Detroit or Boston now, and would result in them giving up the youth/cap space they need to compete in the future with teams like Orlando and Philadelphia. It basically makes them a better version of the Wizards.

    Weird Trade/FA Thought.

I sincerely doubt this will happen. Although, on the wild assumption that this did happen, all it would do it put the Nets back into the 2nd-round-and-out zone they were in the last two years. They wouldn't be strong enough to compete in the present vs. Celtics/Pistons, and they wouldn't be...

    Draft

The Nets have a lot of "good" players select in the late teens and early 20s, they need to draft a guy who can be a "stud" - there won't be that many available at 10, so I think they need to trade up. Perhaps 10/21/40 to Memphis for 5/27.
