The Texans. Do you think they'll go after Leinart, or keep Carr and go for Reggie Bush? Interesting to see what happens.
Theyre not getting neither Reggie or Leinart. Carr is a great QB with no line, and Davis is getting better.Defintely a Guard
I don't know who'll get it, but this is who the teams would take with it.Houston - D'Brickashaw Ferguson, RT, VirginiaNew York Jets - Reggie Bush, RB, USCTennessee Titans - Matt Leinhart, QB, USCSan Francisco 49ers - Jimmy Williams, CB, Virginia TechNew Orleans Saints - A.J. Hawk, OLB, Ohio StateGreen Bay Packers - Reggie Bush, RB, USCArizona Cardinals - Reggie Bush, RB, USCBaltimore Ravens - Matt Leinhart, QB, USCMiami Dolphins - Matt Leinhart, QB, USCSo this is pretty much guranteeing a USC first overal pick.

The 'Phins might draft Omar Jacobs. If they win enough games this year to get out of the top 5, I'm sure they'll take him 'cause Leinhart can't last past the first 5.

They need that big franchise Tackle to block for Alex Smith and Kevan Barlow/Frank Gore and the Saints would opt for Leinart IMO, Aaron Brooks at best is a mediocre NFL starter and is never going to lead the Saints to anything other then Mediocrity and if they drafted #1 they need to get Leinart. The Jets could take any of the 3 imo, but I think Reggie Bush is our man. Curtis Martin is going to be 33 and its time to draft the future, maybe have them split carries for a year and then hand it to Reggie in 07, or just bring Curtis in as a backup next season and let Reggie Bush handle the majority of the carries.
No matter who goes first this year, I think a lot of the rookies will start next year. This might be the deepest draft the NFL has had.

Sorry to the 49ers fans, but Alex Smith was never a true #1 overall pick type prospect. If I was to compare him to a quarterback right now it would be a fully healthy Chad Pennington(pre-torn rotator cuff injuries). A very smart QB from a small school who has extreme accuracy, but average at best arm strength. Decent speed, but hes not going to wow anybody with his ability to run out of the pocket. But the most important part is the smarts, where he will be able to read the defense quickly, make adjustments and play well. In most drafts, he probably would have been drafted in the 6-11 range, but due to the 49ers needs and the lack of a true #1 overall type prospect, he found himself thrown up there. Its a quarterback who should sit behind a starter for a year to learn the system and grow comfterable with it.This draft, Is deeper then last years draft IMO, but its not an overly deep draft unless we have some suprise players declare for the draft (ala Vince Young). This draft is more of a top-heavy draft where its the right year for teams to suck because of D'Brickshaw, Reggie Bush, and Matt Leinart are all capable of going #1 overall in a draft with several quality players behind them. I feel after the first 15 picks or so that the level of players drops significantly right now though, although if players like Vince Young, Brady Quinn, Lendale White, Steve Smith, Darnell Bing all choose to declare it could be a very deep draft.
This draft is a lot deeper than last years, but we have only named 2 defensive players, and like 50 offensive. There are great defensive guys also like, Jimmy King, A.J. Hawk, Chad Greenway, Mathias Kiawanuka, Rodique Wright, Mario Williams, Ahmad Brooks, Haloti Ngata, Laron Landry, and many more.
There is alot of defensive talent in this draft, you are right. But they are going to get overshadowed a bit when you have a bunch of franchise QB, RB, LT's when they are probably the 3 most imporant positions in football, except for maybe a playmaking Defensive Lineman.
Texans. And they'll pick Bush. I think Carr is a good QB with a better line.Jets have to pick a QB if they get it. It's as simple as that. At least Martin is SOMETHING
