i'm starting this thread early. the odds are against us, but i got a feeling we can pull this one off. this Texas team has enough heart to do it.
It's #1 OSU vs. #2 Texas... we moved up in the AP poll. I think we'll win this one... despite the recent arrests. We're at home, and McCoy showed that he can lead the offense (although it was against North Texas). Ohio State has an explosive offense, especially with Troy Smith and Ginn, but their defense doesn't scare me at all and I don't think they can contain us.It'll be close, but I have a feeling Texas will get the victory at the end, and I'll party all weekend!
anyone interested in betting? :shifty2:if Texas loses i'll wear an ohio state sig for like a month, only if someone agrees to this.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BigMo763 @ Sep 5 2006, 10:18 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>It's #1 OSU vs. #2 Texas... we moved up in the AP poll. </div>fixed.
I really think UT can win this game and hope they do. I've always been a Longhorn fan, but this matchup worries me a little. I'm feeling a little bit of deja vu. Is it me or have the teams sort of switched? Last year Texas was the one with the Dual threat quarterback with Vince Young and the Big Game Wide out in Limas Sweed, but this year Ohio State has those players in Troy Smith and Ted Ginn. I just have this feeling that its going to be just as close this year as it was last year, but that since Smith has all the intangables of a Vince Young, that he is going to take over the game late in the 4th and win it. God, I hope I'm wrong.
I think the Defensive speed of the Longhorns is too overwhelming for the Buckeyes, I also think that Jamaal Charles will have a killer game, at least 125 yds rush and 2 TDs. I think this cause Ohio state gave up 143 yards rushing to the Northern Illinois Huskies.
Another interesting note I read while on campus...Coming into the game last year in Columbus, Ohio State was undefeated all-time in night games at home, and then we ended that streak with a win. This year, OSU is coming to Austin, and guess what? UT is 19-1 all-time in home night games (the only loss was 23-20 to NC State when they blocked like three of our kicks)... it truly is a case of role reversal.
i'm worried about troy smith. that guy is a beast. but we really should be able to run all over this team. alot of newbies on D now.

That dude is scary. We better punt the ball out of bounds every damn time, otherwise we are going to pay. The kid just needs to return two more punts for touchdowns to break the NCAA record for most career punt returns, and he still has two years to do it. Then our starting cornerback decides to ride in a car with 2 grams of marijuana and a loaded 9mm after the North Texas game...
Ya he just wants to see texas lose cause he knows texas will win at least 11 game this year and his oklahoma sooners wont win more than 7.
Well, Brown's drug test that was administered by the university came back negative for marijuana and cocaine, but he still probably won't play. He plans on speaking with coach sometime tomorrow to see if he could play on Saturday, but Mack's decision will probably still stand.
I wouldn't say it is necessarily a preview of the national championship game, but this game should have a DRAMATIC effect on who will make it to the championship game. The winner of this game, assuming they don't have any mind-boggling let downs or injury problems, should make it to the NC game...By the way... I sold my ticket for $800. :HAHAHA: So I basically got paid for buying season tickets and attending every other game. :nasty:
^luckyanyway, Texas should win this one, their defense is good and they should be able to contain Ohio States offense well enough. On the offensive side, we are lacking of course at the QB spot, but McCoy showed some good stuff last Sat. and if we can get some consistent play from him we are fine on Offense.my prediction: Texas wins by 3
even more depressing: my friend has tickets to the game and would've taken me, but i have to work damn it!!! :Swoon:
That really sucks. If I was going to an ASU-UA game I'd be pissed if I had to miss that. is right...I think with Texas' top cornerback being suspended and Texas only having 1 player left from their great secondary last year that Ohio State has the small edge now. I won't switch my pick to them though. I'll be pissed if I did and Texas wins and they still have a good chance of winning.
