I say we don't need 3 more rookies. One is just enough, but let it be a special one! At number 6, one of Mayo and Gordon is probably available. Those guys could start in their rookie season. If we can somehow get Brand for RJ, Sean and Marcus... Then sign and trade Krstic to Memphis for Mike Miller Maybe keep Boki too.. next years team: Harris/FA Mike Miller/ Mayo or Gordon Carter/Boki/Ager Brand/Stro Diop/Boone That team is way better than it seems at first look.. It can defend like crazy, and score at will on anybody. Edit: added poll to get some reactions...

They need an impact player as much as the Nets do... and there is a much greater chance to get him at their spot then any of ours. -Petey
A Knicks fan brought up the idea at the RealGM nets forum, and the posters there said they wouldn't do it... I agree with you guys, I don't know why the knicks would do it...

Ended up with 3 players who were on the roster and 2 of them playing for 6+ seasons. I would think Walsh will consider, it, but will Knicks ownership want any part of the Nets.
The Knicks do it if it's a deep enough draft. They're paying luxury tax, and the surest fix for that is to fill three roster spots with rookie salaries. At the same time, when you're coming off a bad record, you might consider rolling the dice three times instead of one.
I don't think I'd do it. I'd sit at 10 and hope Gallinari or Gordon is available there. If neither are, take Batum or CDR, or just trade it for Michael Redd or something.
Mayo might even drop to us it's wayyyyyy too early to have mock drafts and projections. If we give up a 10 20/21 and a 40 we better atleast get into the top 5.
At pick 10 Galinari, Batum, CDR, or Donte Green will be available. Plus there's going to be talent with our second pick, so I'd be hesitant to do this trade to only jump up 4 places when all 4 could be PF/C picks. If we're drafting a wing player its very plausible we could get our guy at 6, at 10. Of course my exception is Mayo, who I'd love to see in a Nets uni. In the case that he is drafted at a reasonably close pick to 10, I'd consider putting together a package. It's not that foreign to see players traded mid-draft in the NBA, it could be a situation similar to the LaMarcus/Tyrus trade a couple years ago.
