Having Lillard going All-NBA MVP mode is the single biggest culprit in the unfolding trade Dame drama.

If Lillard is on the bench in a fake cast coaching up the youngsters while rehabilitating his aggravated pinky toe, the team can finish the season gunning for ping pong balls, and not worry about winning for Dame.

The young players get max pt, gain valuable experience. The Blazers Front Office has nobody chirping while drafting a new super rookie, because Lillard was out for most of the year.
