The Nuggets now have something on the roster that is tradeable in a $10 million trade exception from the dumping of Camby on the Clippers. So the big question is will Stan let the FO use any of the TE.

Last year the Nuggets paid $13,572,079 in luxury taxes and Stan told the Front Office that if they didn't win a championship last season that he didn't want to pay as much in luxury taxes for 2008-2009. Now the luxury tax threshold is $3,285,000 higher than last season, but that is more than eaten up by the increase in salaries from last season for the rest of the roster.

Najera made $4,952,380 last season and that is off the books, but there is the issue of a new contract for JR Smith. He made $2,134,067 last season, and I doubt he'll be making $7 million this season, so there is room for the Nuggets to use part of the TE and still save Stan some money.

Maybe they are angling to go after Zach Randolph....but I have a feeling they are just angling to save money....

The Nuggets were offered Zach last season by Zeke and turned it down. One third of the three headed FO monster really wanted him, but the other two shot him down. I seriously doubt anything has changed.
