Good game so far where Houston holds a 43-34 lead in the beginning of the 2nd half. Oliver Lafayette leads the way for Houston with 15 pts, Jahmar Thorpe has also added 11 pts. Arizona has shot a dismal 29% from the field and Houston has shot 43&; Houston has also hit 5 more three's, then 'Zona has...so that pretty much tells the story.
U of H upsets Zona by 4, 69-65. This guy Oliver Lafayette can flat out shoot, and some reason we let him. The way we played, we didn't deserve to win, U of H are good and Memphis might have a problem with them this year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">HOUSTON (AP) - Oliver Lafayette scored 28 points and Houston recorded its second straight upset of a Top 25 team, beating No. 15 Arizona 69-65 on Saturday night. Jahmar Thorpe added 13 points and Lanny Smith had 11 assists for the Cougars (3-1), who beat No. 25 LSU 84-83 on Tuesday. The Wildcats (2-3) were the highest-ranked team to lose to Houston since the Cougars upset third-ranked Memphis 69-67 in 1996. Hassan Adams came back from an early benching to score 21 for the sloppy Wildcats, who committed 21 turnovers and shot 35 percent (22 of 63). Arizona trailed by 15 in the second half, then surged back within 68-65 heading into the final seconds. Lafayette hit a free throw with 8.6 seconds left to push the lead to four. He missed the second one, then stole the ball from Ivan Radenovic and got fouled again with 5 seconds left. Lafayette missed, but Adams dribbled the ball off his foot in the closing seconds.</div> Foxsports.com] Just hasn't been my day, game lasts till midnight and we still lose, have to wake up @ 8 to play at 10, lose again, UCLA gets blown out, and Zona plays like crap.
Oliver Lafayette is a legit superstar on offense, IMO. He had a big game in there win against #25 LSU this week as well where he had 32 pts(6-9 from beyond the arc) and then he puts on a show tonight with 28 pts. It looks like Houston's win over LSU earlier in the week was no fluke after all.
