The premise is basic....post your dream 1st day draft scenario for your team here....feel free to stretch the reality a little bit and project some trades and falling players, but try not to go to crazy(Id prefer if no player fell more than about 10 slots, no Jake Long to team x in round 2 ridiculousness)....

Dolphins Day 1 Dream Draft Scenario:

The Chiefs and Falcons bid against each other for the right to move to #1 overall and draft Matt Ryan. The Falcons eventually win and send the 3rd overall pick and their three 2nd rounders to Miami for that pick.

Ryan is off the board 1st and the Rams select Jake Long 2nd, leaving the player that Tuna coveted....

With the 3rd overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select DE Chris Long....Long has a perfect size/speed/strength combination to play DE in a 3-4....He could also play the base DE spot in a 4-3....for a team that will play a hybrid defense, hes the perfect fit.....

With the 32nd overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select S Kenny Phillips....Phillips may be gone by this pick, but hes a steal if he remains....

With the 34th overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select DE Calais Campbell.....Campbell is not on the level Long is, but he has the size and strength to play DE in a 3-4 as well....he may be able to move inside on pass rushing situations in a 4-3 and I think he could play the base end position as well....

With the 37th overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select LT Sam Baker....at one time, Baker looked like a Top-10 pick, but injuries and struggles took thier toll on his reputation....he still has the skills that made him attractive to scouts and would be a steal at the top of round 2

With the 48th overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select WR James Hardy....Hardy is a near clone of Keyshawn Johnson, a player Tuna has always been comfortable with....there are some charachter issues, but Hardy will be a matchup nightmare if he can keep it together

With the 58th overall pick, the Miami Dolphins select NT Red Barber.....Barber has the size and strength of Casey Hampton but with more athletic ability....his motor doesnt always run, but when it does, he can do all the things you want from a dominant NT

So there it is, my dream 1st day for the Dolphins....a few of the guys would have to fall a bit to make it happen, but its all plausible in my eyes....in one day, you build an amazing prospective DL if you plan to use a 3-4, getting both ends that fit the system well and the NT that is so hard to come by plus you add a playmaking free safety to the mix.....on offense, you get a high level LT prospect and a WR with unbelievable physical tools and the size to be a perfect compliment to Ted Ginn's speed game....

    For The Dallas Cowboys:

Most importantly: Jerry Jones does not draft any RB from Arkansas this year.
If Stewart or Mendenhall drop to 22 I'll die happy. Still the odds of that happening are slim to none so I'd want a CB / WR combo for the first rounders
1a) Any of the following: DRC / Mike Jenkins / Aquib Talib / McKelvin
1b) Any of the following: Hardy / Kelly / Sweed
    2) RAY RICE! He looks to be an amazing back who shows agility, speed, and quickness up the middle. It doesn't hurt that he runs with the same tenacity of MBIII

If I can get that then I won't care about the rest of the draft. Still, I think it's likely that Pacman will be a Cowboy by the draft, which would compel Jerruh to trade for DMac even more. I'm not sold on DMac and his chicken legs. That's hardly a dream scenario, but it seems ever more likely.

I like the pick of James Hardy @ 48. He might already be off the board.

The only correction I'd make is adding a TE. Fred Davis may be gone by #32. Though, the kid from Oklahoma might still be there in the 3rd or 4th. He would be a good all around TE & might be better than Rucker from Mizzou. Witten was good but really prospered when Tuna was the coach in Big D.

Miami's TE corps as it currently stands is average at best. You get a big time receiving TE and watch Beck's career take off.

My dream scenario: trade Fabian Washington to a team that needs CBs (Dallas?, Cleveland?, New England?) for a 3rd round pick.

In a dream scenario, we get Chris Long with the #4 pick. With the third rounder we take the best available OT/OG, lane-clogging DT, SLB, or receiver.

My guess is James Hardy goes in the late first to mid second range
    For the 49ers
    1st- Quentin Groves (Auburn DE/OLB)
    2nd- Gosder Cherilus (BC OT)
3rd- Anyone that falls lower than they should- it not then Frank Okam (Texas DT)

Dream Scenario - The Packers' draft is so unbelievably amazing, Brett Favre un-retires the next day.

Favre has to retire first. The last I heard, he hasn't turned in his retirement papers yet.

    How 'bout these scenarios?

    a) Matt Roth to Rams or Cincy for an '09 4th. MR is odd man IMO out after Beef's scenario.
or [IMG] Matt Roth & '08 4th to Cincy for Ocho Cinco.... Its only hypothetical, Dale. lol.

Ford sold Jaguar & Land Rover (at a loss) so I guess anything is possible.

I hear that the auto industry in Detroit is on hard times. Perhaps the Fords will finally sell this team and put it out of its misery.

Dream scenario for the Patriots is that Matt Ryan or Darren McFadden fall and some team deals up, and deals big to grab him at seven. The deal would include a first that year and future first and another first day pick. Patriots grab a corner later as none of them are appropriate for the seventh pick. For the first rounder they pick up, the Pats take a corner. With the other picks, they address the need for youth at linebacker.

I deeply appreciate that astoundingly creative response. I've never heard such an utterance about the Patriots before.
