They have not yet signed contracts, but 76ers assistant coaches John Kuester and Dave Hanners expect to join the Detroit Pistons as part of Larry Brown's staff in the coming week.

Kuester was a Sixers assistant for all six seasons of Brown's tenure with the Sixers after serving in a similar role the previous seven seasons with the Boston Celtics. Hanners joined the Sixers in November 2000, working as an assistant and in player development.

"It's been a wonderful opportunity to be in Philly for as long as I was," Kuester said. "I thank [new president] Billy King and [chairman] Ed Snider for everything, but, when I first came, it was to work for Larry Brown. I've been asked to join him with the Pistons, and in the NBA we know that things can change quickly."

I might be worried about these coaching changes. Brown is good and all, but it could end up a disaster. Why rock the boat when it's sailing good (is that a saying? should be one)
