Jay Glazer / FOXSports.com Posted: 9 minutes ago One year after holding out with the Green Bay Packers, cornerback Mike McKenzie finally has the contract he's sought over the last year and a half. FOXSports.com has learned that the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a 5-year, $22 million contract for their starting cornerback. McKenzie held out in Green Bay last season in search of a new deal and was eventually shipped to the Saints in a trade. However, the disgruntled McKeznie agreed to join New Orleans last season under the same contract terms he had with the Packers. He has patiently waited for a new contract in New Orleans and never became the distraction he was in Green Bay.
Green Bay didn't do anything wrong. The Saints made McKenzie play under the same deal, but told him that if he plays well, they'd re-do his contract. The Packers would be happy to do the same thing with Walker and Jackson. Even if they have time on their deals, they'd be happy to say "Play well this year under your current deal and we'll reward you next year." THAT isn't a bad precedent at all to set.
Yea Walker said he is very hungry this season and feels he can top those numbers from last season. If he does then I would be for giving him a new deal.
he should make a deal with mike sherman that if he gets to the pro bowl again then he will get a huge contract.
