A 20 year old clad in body armor walked into a Walmart in Missouri with an assualt rifle on his shoulder and over a 100 rounds of ammo. He didn't shoot anyone, but walked around the store which was evacuated. An off duty fireman held him at gun point till the police arrived and arrested him.

There are open carry laws in Missouri. There are also stand your ground laws. Was the gunman just observing his right to bare arms? Was he seeing how far he could push things? Did he abuse his right or the law? Did he break a law? Was the fireman breaking the law for drawing a gun on him? What if he shot him?

    I asked you first

I think even if he is within his rights somehow here, it was a very poor decision to walk around a Walmart in fatigues and full armor with an assault rifle and a 100 rounds of ammo less than a week after a mass shooting in a Walmart, let alone to do it anyway.

He is lucky the fireman didn't shoot him or for that matter the police. He is now facing domestic terrorism charges. Not a good look.

Too, people aren't going to wait to see if you are abiding laws or if you are about to start a mass shooting. People are going to panic. Others if armed will pull out their guns and maybe shoot you.

This kid isn't even old enough to drink a beer, but he is old enough to own an assault rifle. I am glad no one was hurt or killed.

I think the kid was close to being the leading candidate for the Darwin award. I never did like those open carry laws. Put the weapon away, out of sight, don't scare the shit out of people.
