I was wonderin' what alot of ya'll thought about next season? IMO You guys need a point guard a true one...how 'bout Ben Gordon?

Bit if you drafted Gordon how would the line-up look?

    PG-Ben Gordon/Ollie
    SG-Dajuan Wagner/Williams
    SF-Lebron James/Miles
    PF-Carlos Boozer/Newble
    C-Zydrunas Ilgauskas/Battie

Would you want that as a starting linue-up? The back court would be potent with Gordon and Wagner..high scoring..BUT would it be too undersized? And in that case would you want Williams to start and Wagner come off the bench? or would you want it like this?

    PG-Ben Gordon/Ollie
    SG-Lebron James/Wagner
    SF-Eric Williams/Miles
    PF-Carlos Boozer/Newble
    C-Zydrunas Ilgauskas/Battie

Would this be a better line-up? Pretty solid..and not undersized. Of course this is speculative assuming that they keep the players they have now...If they keep D.Miles I would not start him at all..he isn't consistent enough to start..nowhere near it.

    What does everyone think?

Personally, I would like to see Diop finally get the nod to start...He's getting some minutes this year, and maybe next year will be his time...

How does his offensive game rate compared to that of Big Z?

With that lineup you suggested, they got plenty of offense already. Big Z is just too immobile for me...

btw, newble is a sg, maybe a sf

Nice lineups there...especially the backcourt of Ben and 'Bron...

I would like to see the Cavs get really proactive (fat chance) and find a way to land another high first round pick (drugs kicking in) to nab Gordon AND Okafor. I like Boozer but I would rather have him coming off the bench; I think the Cavs need a PF who can score, rebound and block shots. As long as Z is imitating a statue in the middle (no movement at all) Boozer gets no help in the paint, and I think being able to use Okafor, Diop, and Boozer in a rotation would be quite sick. My lineup, if they could pull it off somehow would be Bron and Gordon in the backcourt, with Williams, Okafor and Diop up front. Yeah, that means Z must go, but hey, I wanted to move him last year, so it's no big deal to me. Wagner, Miles, and Boozer form 3 fifths of a very solid second team, and if Miles keeps improving and gains some consistency, he could conceivably push Williams in the not too distant future.

I want Gordon, bottom line, end of story. He can shoot, drive, and is very athletic. Seems like a perfect piece to put around James.

You are right though, having him and Wagner in the back court would be very small, but for now I will assume that Wagner's best position is coming off the bench to be our scoring spark, which every team needs.

James to me is best for the small forward, this way he can move without the basketball some and find more scoring opportunities. Sure he will see lots of time setting up his teammates and the offense, because that is a huge part of his game, so the assists will still be there for him regardless. Think of how Pippen helped run the Bulls on the offensive side of the basketball.

Miles and Z I can't speak for hanging around because there have been so many rumors about these guys packing their bags (Check the trading thread)

Diop is our center of the future, he fits in very well with what Silas wants, which is why Gana was closing games for us in the 4th quarter ahead of Z. Diop is an impact player with his shot blocking ability. He has got better at rebounding and has improved big time on his offensive skills. His set jump shot is actually very accurate. He is our guy.

Boozer I am happy with at the PF spot, he closed out the last few months of his rookie season being a double double guy and has not let up this year. I love the fact that he shoots over 50% from the field and is not a bad freethrow shooter.

I want to sign Eric Williams this off season and keep him because he means too much to this team. Having him and Wagner off the bench would be a great duo.

Ollie will remain part of this bench bunch, that is his only role in the NBA.

Newble is more a sf, he sucks at shooting and can't cover fast guys.

Personally I want to see 'Bron staying at the PG... I think that's a great position for him... He could be very good... At the 3, he would have more chances of scoring but at 1 he could run the team and become the true leader of the team...

Well for the most part wouldn't you want him on lockdown on the PF spot? He played some pf with ATL and I always thought he did a decent job....

He played 2G at Atlanta mostly, but to me is a solid backup.

Newble, Ollie, Wagner, Williams, Battie, Kapono...bench not bad there.

next year, i see the lineup as thins c diop pf boozer sf james sg wagner and pg someone we traded for. eric williams will be good off the bench if we sign him. the cavs will have someone to comliment james next year. i guarentee it. we will trade z and are lottery pick away for someone. we will be battling for 6,7,8 spot in the playoffs next year.
