FYI, if you got DQ from last league for not submitting a lineup, you are not eligible. also, people who participated in the league this year will get precedence over newcomers. This has basically been stated in other posts, i just want to summarize.
This list will get buried and redone 100 times before next season....it really goes down like this though, were looking at enough room for about 20 teams, maybe 24 at the most....you need 4weeks for the playoffs and the Super Bowl and we cant have the league go through week 17 again so the most teams we could accomidate is about 14 per conference and that makes for an unbalanced schedule....best scenario in my opinion is 2 conferences of 12 teams broken up evenly into 3 divisions....you play every team from your division twice and then 6 of the 8 remaining teams once....that makes for a 12 week regular season with the top 2 teams earning byes and the playoff format being identical to that of the NFL except you would have an xtra wild card team instead of the xtra division winner....Under this system, teams that are in good standing would get the 1st shot at the league, IE: teams that were not eliminated from the playoffs for failure to turn in a roster, any remaining spots would be filled by new comers to the league....

I'm in. It was my understanding that we were not going to do a incredibly large or even 2 big leagues (like last yr). Rather, We were going to have several small leagues. For instance, an all AFC east league w/ myself, beef, pats37, jets, a few others (dolfandale, glenso).
20 teams can work, consider this scenario....2 conferences of 2 divisions of 5....you play everyone in your division twice and everyone from the other division within your conference once, making for an 11 game regular season....the division winners get the bye, the division runner ups host a 1st week game and the 2 wild cards visit those runner ups....that makes teh super bowl week 15, which is really the last week that every team plays everyone and makes sure the playoffs are after the bye weeks are over....
